    IPT study help

Implementation methods are about how you change over to a new system or platform (eg if you were migrating from a Windows to a Mac!) Transmission methods are how data is communicated over a medium (eg is it one-directional data flow of bits or bi-directional)

Social and Ethical Issues for multimedia?

    Presumably copyright infringement?

What would you like to see on BOS?

Curious here- what are you looking for in terms of getting more moderators? What role/activity do you think they should be fulfilling?

    Laptop

IMO the Mac has better build quality than a T460s. The machined aluminium feels much sturdier. That being said, I am a fan of Thinkpads, but I recently swapped my T460 for a Yoga 260 for work. Back on topic, I have to admit in the current state without the normal USB ports, it's difficult to...

how hard is it to achieve a 75 wam in these subjects?

This. I personally didn't do well at uni initially and funnily enough really struggled with ACCT1501. Found them painful, hard, and difficult to understand. But some friends blitzed through these with minimal effort.

    HSC 2017 Business Studies Marathon

    D. It's an ethical challenge here whereby Ruth has reported someone doing something wrong but instead of the colleague getting impacted, Ruth has been dismissed unfairly even though she has not failed to meet her role/responsibility requirements.

    decent uni part time jobs

Depends on the job but IMO it says you're able to balance work/studies, can handle responsibility/commitments, etc... and then depending on the job you did, you may be able to demonstrate other traits/skills whether it be customer service, coaching staff, managing aspects of a process, conflict...

how competitive will it be to get a job after graduating from uni

I assume op is asking about grad programs given they are discussing completing a tertiary education.

    MS Surface Studio

Finally played with one in the flesh at the MS store in Sydney. It FEELS huge even though it's only a 28" (I think) screen. The motion/arm felt stable/ Very restrictive given no upgrades possible (not even RAM/SSD). The Surface Dial was fun to use and if only it were Win 8 compatible, then I'd...

how competitive will it be to get a job after graduating from uni

I think it doesn't get easier so if a good opportunity arises before graduation, go for it.

    Cadetships 2017

I agree there's always a human aspect to a lot of the more advanced/sophisticated roles, but the real question is what will that role be in the future... there is definitely a push towards automation of everything, and as much as you think that a role is impossible to outsource, the reality is...

what other forums besides bos do you use

this. Maybe it's just the boards/threads which cosmo 2 posts in...?

what other forums besides bos do you use

whirlpool has a diverse audience and a different demographic... it's actually quite insightful.

does doing extracurricular activities really matter in high school

Key thing (in a scholarship/cadetship context) is that ECs give you braoder experiences than what you'd get in pure studies whether it be how to deal with conflict, how to handle stakeholders, how to inspire/lead, etc...

does doing extracurricular activities really matter in high school

I think it depends which scholarship/cadetship... at least in the ones I've been involved with, I'd look for ECs or well roundedness beyond academics.

    Student managed investment funds anywhere?

Agreed. UNIT is more like a traditional society with a common interest as opposed to actually running a fund of sorts like the ones linked above. I'm quite intrigued by this!

    accounting + a "useless" arts major ?

In all honesty it will have minimal impact on how your prospective employers look at you for a graduate position. When I see graduate applications, I don't really differentiate between different Commerce/Business degrees (unless it's Comm/Law?), and the year which you graduate does not make much...

Private coaching vs Centre based coaching?

I personally found group coaching to be useful at younger years as it also allows you to socialise, make a study group/share notes, etc... but towards HSC when you need that one on one tutoring to help ensure you are getting stuff done right, and don't feel any pressure to impress peers/etc...

    Cadetships 2017

I don't want to duplicate what others have said (eg bookkeeping vs professional accounting, the roles considered 'dying', etc) but instead, I'll share my own experience especially since the topic of automation and robotics is commonly brought up in this circle. The key thing here is not so much...
