    Electrical engineering

Well anyone is able to. Depends on the difficulty of getting it in terms of competition. If you want to go into aerospace and engine development then you most likely would enjoy Mechanical more. If you want to do a lot of Computing and Mechanical type work, then consider maybe Mechatronics.

How to tell parents you didn't make it into 4u

You have to take into account resources though and I'm pretty sure that if the school had too many students they could easily say that they did not have enough resources.

    Electrical engineering

You will learn harder integrals in your first semester maths courses at most universities. However, there are some universities which start from scratch and teach you basic integration and differentiation. Also, all universities will have some sort of "Fundamentals of Mathematics" course...

Hope you get in one day :) That is why they didn't 100th percentile it.

    Electrical engineering

Well as with all engineering you can attempt from the ground up in terms of work. However, many things will be new to you and you will have to work really hard for it. Electrical Engineering can be very fun and rewarding if you enjoy the work you do. As for what's relevant to electrical...

do people still stay in touch after graduated from high school?

Agree with the bolded. As for the unbolded, you don't get the reputation as the weird, shy guy, but instead end up losing out on so much help you can get or give to others. There are people in our program which I have met only briefly a few times and by the amount of resources, fun and help all...

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014 Ok yeah you meant work. Yeah some form of manipulation involves that, but you are really missing the key part of this question. Think about relating forces to each other. That's pretty much how I approached this question from the beginning (actually pretty much...

Predictions for this years final q

Conics wasn't that bad a topic lmao. There are some nice questions in past papers for them. However the annoying thing is that there aren't too many different types of questions for conics in past papers so sometimes students find it a hit or miss situation. EDIT: By hit or miss I mean that...

    Extension 3 maths

I was the one who suggested that for the extra keen students or for those intending to do more maths in uni lol. Not sure though who would opt for it, but if people go for things like high school pathways at some universities, I would think there would be quite a few out there willing to go for it.

Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014 You related torque to energy here. The wire does not rotate so there is no torque acting on it..... Also, we can't say that work done here is equal to the force applied over a distance, because the work applied is by VIt in the conductor and the magnetic...

Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

I have no idea what Python consists of so not sure. Also, I'm a bit tired but I should have made it clear earlier that it is best to rank the languages in order of levels rather than classifying as low/intermediate/high. Lower levels meaning that it has a lot more fundamentals, and is much...

Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

Of course in saying that you would want to go into a lot of low level programming, knowing the high level stuff does lead you to using very powerful languages. A broad knowledge of a range of different programs is essentially what you need (hence why its best to learn the techniques of...

Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

Many things are based off C though. For example, the syntax of Verilog is entirely based on C, but instead of {-} there is begin-end statements. Also from what I have heard from a friend, assembly languages utilise some things from C. A lot of languages I can imagine do utilise things from C...

Re: HSC Physics Marathon 2014 Slightly off there. I think you have the right idea, but you messed up somewhere. This is where it would be good to see your working to check what you forgot to do and I could give you a hint.

Is a 6 figure salary possible with a CS or SE degree?

What???? C is a very versatile language and is procedural. There is quite a bit you can do with it. C is quite handy before you go to lower level's of the computer. However all of this brings into attention that Computer Science or Software Engineering are not about learning a few...
