That's why hopefully for the OP's case they get the choice of picking an extra SOLA elective in later years. Not sure though. On a slightly related note, its kinda like the gen ed list too.

Call the school tomorrow. I suspect they will let you do another SOLA or possibly any other engineering elective later on but confirm with the school. I never got to do first year electives at all in my program as I did a second year course last sem :p
