    School captain responsibilities

What they would morseo look for is the depth of your involvement and what you have done. So yes they would consider your duties as a School Captain for scholarships and what not, but they would want some substance from it (so what you did and how much involvement you had as a good captain)...

    2014 COMP finals thread.

Need Squar3's opinion on this as he failed Phys first sem due to final but was doing fine otherwise. Did the course explicity have the requirement of passing the final to pass the course? This is what we are talking about here. But I think they end up giving you a 49 and let pass conceded do...

    Fitness Thread

Nah man I lost a lot of my flab using a sugar and protein based diet. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). I got nowhere with Low or Medium Intensity sometimes.

    2014 COMP finals thread.

That's called unsatisfactory fail iirc if you miss one requirement. Just basics will do early on. Its really easy though. Can't wait to do Assembly language next year second sem.

    2014 COMP finals thread.

We had to get at least 24/60 in our final to pass the course. I doubt they marked that quickly but its possible as I saw the lecturer walking in the Racecourse straight after we finished and actually got to say thanks for explaining a question a few days prior which popped up in the final exam...

Do you post on any other forums beside BOS?

Whirlpool is alright actually. However I don't like the formatting of the screen. Also, my mate showed me what an FB thread is and I was like "lolwut"

    2014 COMP finals thread.

My COMP1917 exam was done two days ago only and it says the same thing. Though my exam was completely on paper so I highly doubt it was marked that fast. Just be wary of that. Seems likely that you'll have to wait a while before you can enrol. I guess you could try enrolling every day until...

AC and DC generator structure question

Slip rings and brushes do not move at all in any case. Commutators however can be moving or not moving (ideally it works much better if they are moving though as it actually is less prone to problems with perfecting the wiring contact like as how must be done with slip rings, so I will only...

If you feel that worried and worse comes to worse then if you want to repeat in the summer, enrol in it now and drop before the census date if you passed. I guess its better to prepare for the worst just in case.

    Westinghouse and Edison

Here's some stuff you may find handy: http://www.animations.physics.unsw.edu.au/jw/electricmotors.html For transformers and generators, the concepts of Magnetic Flux, Torque and Lenz's Law are required to explain their use and optimisation of transfomers can be achieved through the reduction of...

What to wear for a scholarship interview

NICTA is pretty rare actually. Good luck with it fellow EE ;) Just wear dress pants, dress shoes and a good long sleeved shirt. That's all you should require. Tie is optional but if you don't have a suit I guess there isn't much need for a tie. And wearing a suit is a bit overboard, especially...

    Westinghouse and Edison

So you can say the main technological development as a result of their work in Physics and engineering involve the distribution of energy using electrical systems. You can say that electromagnetic induction, knowledge of magnetic flux and Faraday's Law led to the development of transformers...

    AC and DC Generators dillema...

You could still do a bit of it within the syllabus though. Just not in the depth I went through. Also, with the "But DC does not cause losses through EM is" its not as big an issue as transmission lines are kilometres long, and E = hf = hc/lambda So the EMR has a large wavelength. A large...

year 11 counting to atar/hsc course

Year 11 marks do not mean anything for your HSC marks at all. There is absolutely no correlation. However, some of the knowledge you have learnt in year 11 can and will affect your year 12 performance at some point. So some content may be necessary for you to know from year 11. For some...

Eligibility for Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme

With UNSW, I know that there is a specific list which determines the cut-off and how many points you get. Maybe there is one for USyd? Have a look around and see if you can find something.
