I did 3 unit HSC and 2 unit HSC, marks are below...

I would be hoping for the HSC exam 108+ on a good day... I believe this year is going to have a tricky question 8... enjoy!

Neap was easy I thought, but question 7 (c); their solutions are wacky man, there is a much better way...

My mark was 114...my apologies... my school didn't do the paper, that mark was at home under test conditions :)... I found it pretty aight... and we do independant papers...

You can solve any of these integrals with trig sub.... im thinking let x^2=tanx...then proceed... Edit: tidy it up a bit by, on the numberator, saying x^2-1=X^2+1-2...

Hahaha... none of our fault... in the question it sais that each cross section is an equilateral triangle... its from HSC 2004...

Anyone got any 'curl ball' questions that are really unanswerable; needing a challenge at the moment... Also if you've got a triangular prism with a section cut out of the top triangle and it is to be volumised (to be volumed) u use the ratio of paralell division thingy rite???

I can't upload the solns cauz they're in a booklet but if u want I can answer them here, I found the paper not too bad...

Personally, I find the CSSA papers relatively easy, even the 4 unit. The ones that are quite hard are by a person called Sami El Horsi. If you have one try them, they are a lot of fun. Also, with the CSSA papers, I find that qns 1-4 are a little harder than usual and it makes u feel bogged down...

Yeah I got 4 for the square one... sorry for sounding stupid but how do u do the octahedron one, I didnt see it... And did u say 13 was the last question answer...

So they measure the top of the state on raw marks in the actual exam and how well your school goes comparitively to everyone else???

Yes 80 was correct, as for the triangle one sorry man I dont have my paper anymore... Did everyone get 5 for the second last one also???

Well, how did everyone go, I found it alright... except that octahedron, I had no idea. The rest was relatively easy...

Looking foward to a challenge but I have to say that these days I am quite lost without a calculator... quite ironic seeing that calculus has done this to me (was a bad joke working on the calculator/ calculus pun, I apologise...)

Nice method, I have seen this done in a random trial before, I think western region where they asked you to do exactly the same thing using f(x) and g(x), etc...

The reason I want a harder exam is becasue I think the q8 should be for talented students who can see the linkage; at the moment if u do a shitload of past papers and are well prepared, then the q8 u will have proably seen before... and why should we be complacent with 70 or 80%; the way I see...

should be a bit of fun.. is it the one where u loose marks for incorrect answers in the last 8 or smthing... and gain a mark if u dont answer them???
