I just did the 2004 CSSA trial for extension 1, and I finished in 1hr 10mins, getting 95%. Now why oh why do they go and make ext1 so easy, but ext2 so hard? I struggle to pull off 60% in the CSSA ext2 exams...

Food chain :p
Quite a few out there I'm sure can do the CSSA 4U with 50 min to spare and a 95% mark...

Not to sound arrogant, but I dont think the 2004 CSSA ext1 exam was too difficult. I got 83/84 and I didnt even do 4 unit maths.

What I meant is that I dont think the 2004 ext 1 exam is a good indication of the difficulty of the ext 1 CSSA trials, since I normally wouldnt have gotten 83/84 for other years.

CSSA papers are heaps harder than HSC paper in my opinion
to me...the CSSA papers are full of trickery and doesn't test much of ur *understanding* while the HSC papers emphasise more on ur understanding of those topics

Fair enough, I just did 2003 and got 93%, although it certainly was a lot more difficult, took me closer to the 2 hours too :p *hopes trend continues* lol. I'm certain my teacher is using the catholic trials this year...

Personally, I find the CSSA papers relatively easy, even the 4 unit. The ones that are quite hard are by a person called Sami El Horsi. If you have one try them, they are a lot of fun. Also, with the CSSA papers, I find that qns 1-4 are a little harder than usual and it makes u feel bogged down, I just slow down with them and concentrate on getting them right; usually 6-8 are relatively easy...but that's just my opinion...:)

yeh ive also noticed that, like u expect the least question to be really hard, but it usually turns out to be a really easy one. its as if the arnolds got bored writin it and just threw in some random questions

Good Luck for CSSA'ers tomorrow!
I just did 2002 - didnt finish in time "big surprise" - but it was kinda/sorta doable. (Ofcourse I am about to start the "impossible" 2003 - so my confidence goes utterly and completely down the drain :) )

Sami El Horsi is the guy who has written all the solutions for Arnold....one of his paper thingies is in out library...:)

Ah, I couldn't do alot of the 2004 (I think) haha.
I had a huge cram session of 9 hours today, brings my total study to 10 hours... just hoping to pass
I did 2001 paper, that was alot easier than 2004... Question 8 was one of the easiest questions in the whole paper, and I thought 7 was the hardest... meh.
