    Journals

Anything and everything really. What I did was have my journal beside me every time I was working on my major work. Whether I was doing research, writing drafts or doing plans, I'd paste it in there, along with some reflections on what I was doing each time and assessing it's quality/usefulness.

which university in Sydney is the best for primary teaching????

I also have a few friends who are studying primary or secondary education; they're all at Macquarie, and they really love it there. At Macquarie though to do primary education you either have to already hold a bachelor degree, or do it combined with Arts (ATAR cut-off 75.20) or Arts - Psychology...

Will I be able to transfer into USYD arts for Semester 2 given my situation?

I'd be very surprised if you didn't get in with an ATAR that high above the cut off. I think you'll find there's a lot less competition mid year anyway, internally or externally, and that for a degree course as broad as Arts that there would be ample places. But yeah, don't withdraw from your...

    Math1004

I'll be doing MATH1004 next semester as well, and I only have a 3 unit background. Seeing as it is a normal level unit, I doubt it would be any more hard than the any of the other first year normal-level mathematics subjects.

    Can I change subjects?

P stands for prerequisite. N stands for "not counted for credit with", which basically means if you do a certain subject, you can't do the units they list next to the N letter. So for example you aren't allowed to do SCLG2601 if you have already done SCLG2001 or SCLG2520. So yeah, as has been...

Need help with explaining how a Bachelor of Arts works...

God I'm just coming across as a douchebag now. How about we both admit to trolling somewhat and call it a day, yeah?

Then consider what I am about to do as being fastidious, rather than trolling. Which makes sense, because the credibility of a person is not dictated by their activeness on a forum. OK, I thought you were making a joke about Asian mannerisms, so I misinterpreted you. Nevertheless both...

Well you wouldn't be without reason to assume I was Asian, even if you were being sarcastic. Just thought I'd put it on the record. And even if I was trolling your troll than that would mean you were the trolls in the first place right? Then indulge me in my state of ignorance. I seemed to...

Nope. Caucasian. You two instigated it, so if I was trolling you I think it would be entirely justified. Yes I do realise that. But I believe the matter of contention was the helpfulness of your posts as a whole. I don't see any point in arguing semantics. I'm sure it is, and that is a...

I wish? If I did wish that you were a troll, I wouldn't be calling you out for it would I? Ah yes, helpful and informative posts, I especially love the ones where you bitch about your hapless love life. But personal attacks aside, please tell me how you have been in any way helpful to the OP...

Also OP you may want to consider doing a few units in Summer/Winter school (four in total over your degree), so that you can graduate by the end of 2016. That way you will still graduate at the same time as you were going to in your old degree. Don't pay any attention to the UNSW people in this...

Need help with explaining how a Bachelor of Arts works...

You can find the list of units here: http://sydney.edu.au/handbooks/arts/units_of_study/tablea/history.shtml Basically you pick minimum two junior units and six senior units from that list (four of them have to be core subjects, and at least one has to be at 3000 level). But you can take more...

    UNSW v USyd for Science/Law?

Ah OK. Thought they would've advertised it by now.

    Exam Timetables!

It's accounting, I don't need that much time to study for it haha.

One exam Monday in the second week. Had hoped to get it out of the way earlier but otherwise not too bad.

    UNSW v USyd for Science/Law?

You sure about that? I can't find any mention of it on the web or in the 2015 UNSW Law Undergraduate Guide. It would be great if it was though; sounds like a good combination. And don't worry about Redfern, it's harmless.

    UNSW v USyd for Science/Law?

Salaries aren't that relevant. They could be totally coincidental for all we know; there are many more factors that play a part in graduate employment and starting salary than the quality of your university. At the end of the day, USYD and UNSW law are pretty much equal, the only reasons USYD...

    Anyone done MATH2072/2972?

No problem :) Just on an additional note, you won't be able to complete both a Statistics and a FMAS major; both require STAT3011/3911 and STAT3012/3912, and you can't count a unit to one major that you have already counted towards another. Just do a Mathematics major instead of FMAS.

    Anyone done MATH2072/2972?

There is no such unit as MATH2072/2972. Did you perhaps mean MATH2070/2970, which is Optimisation and Financial Mathematics? None of the mathematics units have computing prerequisites, so don't be too worried about not having much of a computing background. They will teach you what to do.

Is MATH1004 (Discrete Mathematics) important for an Adv Maths major?

Yeah sorry, should have made myself more clear. It is assumed knowledge for some intermediate computing units, so while you don't need to do it, you would probably be at a disadvantage if you had no knowledge of discrete mathematics.
