    ECON1001 Mathematics Diagnostic test?

Economics has no assumed knowledge, so you should be fine. I'm doing ECON1002 this semester with no economics knowledge, and so far I'm finding it quite manageable.

    Law Transfer

You'll need at least a distinction average. Then you will be admitted based on either a 50/50 split of your ATAR (which is generally recommended to be 97+) and WAM, or only your WAM, whatever is higher. So by that, you should have a good chance if you get great university marks.

    Recent FINC and BUSS1020 outlines?

Don't have any notes I'm afraid, but if your interested, there are some FINC2011/2012 textbooks in the Coop Bookshop (this early on in the semester they might be stacked in the middle of the store somewhere, otherwise just check the bookshelves). Have a flick through and that might give you some...

Transfer after 2nd year, how does it work

As a general rule, if you have completed 48 credit points (8 subjects) in your previous degree, than you will be considered on GPA/WAM alone. So if you were to transfer at the end of this year, your WAM will take into account your results in 2013 and 2014. And full time study requires a minimum...

    Recent FINC and BUSS1020 outlines?

It's possible, though you may have to work a bit harder to get to the same level as everyone else. For Commerce in general they recommend knowing 2U material before you start, but there are foundational programs like bridging courses, and an ongoing program called Maths in Business which should...

Is HD average much more employable than D average Commerce student???

Ah yes, had that lecture today. You forgot this one, which I think is the most telling: http://imageshack.com/a/img69/5871/4cox.jpg Look to be brutally honest I don't think a question like this is something that you should be asking. If you are intelligent, and you put in the effort, you...

Can someone explain how double majors work in an Arts degree?

Double majors are pretty common, and you shouldn't have any problem with completing your degree on time. The requirement for pretty much all Arts majors is a minimum of 36 credit points (6 subjects) across your second and third year. Seeing as you typically do 8 subjects a year, you'll have...

    Subject Reviews (with PDF compilation)

ECOP1001 - Economics as a Social Science Ease: (9/10) This course is very well structured and easy to follow, regardless of your background in economics, and it’s easy enough if you do the weekly readings to participate in tutorial discussion and understand what is going on. Assessment wise it...

Is it possible to do two degrees at once?

Sorry about your situation. Your parents views are certainly misguided and ignorant, but things like this: is just downright selfish. I think that seems to be why your parents want to control what you do. So I think the question I'd want to ask you is, do you really want to run your family's...

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

It's just that you seemed to imply it was a necessity, that's all.

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

As RishBonjour has said. That's not to say getting a 95 WAM would do anything but help :).

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

Um, was that a typo? It is extremely difficult to get a WAM that high. I would say a credit or distinction WAM would be a minimum, depending where you go. The finance major doesn't really start until second year, but I have enjoyed my studies in Economics thus far. I'm still in the early days...

    Serious advice needed :)

The "scope" that USYD offers is only a difference of one or two units. I doubt that would differentiate yourself too much. All knowledge is helpful knowledge. I see no problem with doing a combined degree as long as you are OK with being at uni for a little longer.

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

Yeah that shouldn't be a problem. The other majors aren't as directly relevant to the profession as Finance is.

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

I would argue that there are relatively good job prospects for management and marketing majors (maybe more so the latter). Problem is whether the jobs that are available are actually ones you would feel happy doing in the first place. In any case, I have friends who have studied it first year...

    Fast-tracking a course

You can do units in Summer and Winter School as well if you wish. I'm actually attempting to do something like this myself to squeeze a five year degree into four. Though depending on what you are studying your choices may be quite limited.

Liberal Arts and Science Units (Mathematics Units)

Statistics is relevant if you end up studying data analytics, otherwise it isn't needed so much.

What majors should I take in B. Commerce at Usyd for investment banking career?

I'm considering a career in investment banking as well, and I'm doing a Finance/Economics double major. I'd consider the Finance major as absolutely essential, Economics/Econometrics would be a useful second major as well. Quantitative Business Analysis would be worth doing as well especially if...
