Who is going to start studying for uni the day they finish the HSC?

I'll be busy doing Extension 2 Cronulla Beach studies :) I might look at a few things out of interest but probs nothing related to my uni degree

    BOS Papers VS Trials

No lol that isn't normal- HSC papers are harder than virtually all trials imo- especially at the Q8 level. Though if you find them easy, that's fantastic- good luck tomorrow :)

    Catholic 2012 difficulty

Wasn't that bad. There were some nice questions but on the whole, probs a bit easier than the HSC. It wasn't a joke though- like it was a solid test imo

    Question 28

Wasn't the whole question about effectiveness? Idk I did the case study but if its effectiveness, then limitations would be a major part of that imo. Regardless don't worry about it now- you can't change it

Depends on the paper and if I'm rushing etc. In the actual exam room, probs 45 mins at max but not sure at all tbh. I'll time my next paper and give you 'splits' lol. How long does it take you?

What extra stuff should we learn for 4 unit

Hahaha- lol we both thought of it at the same time- further evidence it will be tested. I'll upload a proof a bit later for you guys

What extra stuff should we learn for 4 unit

Oh shit- better learn that one too. I've already remembered the proof for the Riemann hypothesis- I heard that one could come up too

    ITT: Post Mathematics (2U) Questions/Problems

Beautiful. Lol I just did a VERY similar question in 4U with complex numbers haha. Very well done- I like :)

    Complex numbers!

Algebra that one defs- there might be a way to do it geometrically but I don't know it. Regardless, the algebra isn't long really.

    Complex numbers!

Let me know if you want more detailed stuff- these were just meant to point in a general direction- Barb will probs post something better than mine anyway so it should be good

    Complex numbers!

Before Barb posts :p I think the first one is from 06 HSC? Anyway, if you remember properties of an ellipse, you know that the sum of the distances from the two foci equals 2a. So now you know the length of the major axis, the two foci, you can find the centre and then you should be able to go...

    Easy Probability Q

Ok consider the total 'winning' combinations. If the white dice is a 1 or 2, he loses. If its a 4, he's pretty much stuffed but can still win if the other dice is a 3. So here is one 'winning' combination so far. If its a 6, 10, 12, the winning possibilities are 2, 5, 6 respectively. So there's...

    100%

Yeah non-ext kids have but I'm not sure if non-ext year 12 students have if that makes sense. Like some schools accelerate 2U and then those same students go on to do 4U so I'm not sure if you count them. Its highly possible that straight out 2U students have also gotten 100 but then I would be...

    Easy Probability Q

Notice its exactly double your answer. What I think you did was implicitly assume that you win the first game, which gives odds of 14/36x22/36=77/324. But note you can also lose the first game and win the second, so you also have to add 22/36x14/36 to your answer (which is where you lose first...

    Easy Probability Q

I just did it quickly so I might have made a mistake (soz if I did- hopefully someone points it out), but I got: ONLY once -> 77/162 AT LEAST once -> 203/324 Are either of these two right?

    Math help

Haha bro you'll be fine. I had no idea what this stuff was in Year 10. I still find the term latus rectum hilarious though
  17. deswa1

    Math help

Latus rectum is the line passing through the focus that is parallel to directrix. The axis of parabola is x=0. So the focus of the parabola is (0,-3). Now can you do it?

    Grid Book or Lined Paper?

Blank paper (srs). That's what I do anyway- do the maths and then chuck it out lol. Though if you want to keep notes in a central location or look back over your work, then a book would probs be better in which case get lined imo

    Easy Probability Q

Is it winning ONLY once in two successive games or winning at least once in two successive games?
