Interest question: How can i find the mass of an object in a gravitational field?

Wait what? I don't get the question. The mass of an object will be the same independent of the gravitational field force (not sure if this still applies with general relativity but definitey within HSC syllabus). Are you trying to find the weight of the object or what?

Predict My Internal Marks for Mathematics

I looked up your school rank and apparently last year your school got 21 B6's in MX1 and 8 in MX2 so I would probs predict an internal of around 91 for MX2 and 93/94 for MX1. Just two questions though: 1. Why are your MX2 marks/ranks higher than your MX1 ranks 2. Is it just your rank that is a...

Determining the gradient of a line.

Its the gradient of a straight line lol- its constant no matter which two points you pick. What you must make sure you do though is pick two points ON the line of best fit- not neccessarily two points from your data because they might not lie exactly on the line of best fit. In your case, if...

    Titration MC question

Hey guys- Can someone please explain the working for this: http://www4.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/testResults.cfm?testID=15039259&testUUID=9A96DD09-F195-BCA9-930F0890F78BA966&question_id=1671&question_num=2&correctAnswer=C&user_answer=B&courseID=15050&testQuestionID=300268719 I'll run...

    Can't concentrate!

YES OMG lol- I was so much more 'in the zone' before trials than I am now. I've got ages until phys/chem though anyway so as long as I do some decent effort every day, it should be good

    Chem MC help

No its A. And shit- I'm a retard lol- I remembered that the Success books have worked solutions so I know why now. This is their explanation in case anyone else wants to know: "Site 1 must be the town owing to the high levels of E. coli which are found in town sewage. Site 3 must be the estuary...

    2 people rank 1st

Nah its just the top two exam marks in general. From the Board of Studies website: "Note that if a school submits assessment marks with two (or more) students tied on the top assessment mark, then the top moderated assessment mark is equal to the mean of the top two (or more) examination marks. "

    2 people rank 1st

No they don't neccessarily average the marks of the two people who tied first, they average the top two exam marks of your entire cohort. But yes, if you got 90 and the next highest mark in your grade was 80, you'd end up with an 85. Sorry

Worried about 2013 HSC, need advice?

Oh lol no it doesn't exist in our school- we wouldn't share with everyone. Just me and a few mates would share all our stuff haha. I would help people and stuff but I wouldn't just hand out essays etc. because some people would just copy them etc.

I legit know absolutely nothing about cars so I don't know if thats good or if its a good price or anything lol. From looking at it- it seems solid but yeah, I can't say if its worth it or not haha. That'd be heaps cool if you've got your own car though- I can only drive when either my mum or my...

Is that a specific syllabus dotpoint? I've never seen it in anyones notes or in textbooks etc. I guess if they ask a question, I'll just BS about a guy called A***** B***** who works at ANSTO/CSIRO and does some highly important research there :p

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

No you won't get the mark- its a one mark question so if you get it wrong, you get it wrong lol. And 50/70 will probs be a tiny bit below 90, but I'm not really sure tbh- sorry

Worried about 2013 HSC, need advice?

Ok that was a long post and I'll just be blunt and to the point: 1. You will never be the best- as harsh and as politically incorrect as this sounds. There is always someone out there who will be better than you so if you constantly compare yourself to others, you will feel crap- don't make...

    Maths Discussion Thread

Oh I've seen this before. I think it can be defined by a function gamma(z) (gamma being the capital letter)- I'll look more into it. That's why if you go to wolfram and plot y=x!, its a smootly defined curve. And I think you can even define it for complex numbers but that just flies WAY over my...
