Three sciences might be a bit of a heavy load, but really its up to you, you can really choose both Legal and Modern as the max number of units is 14, my advice would be to go with 14 units and then after your half yearlies you might have a better idea of what your relative strengths are, then...

Is it okay to dwell on areas within the syllabus that are most likely going to be asked, take for example Germany 1918-1939: Its most likely going to be about the Depression or Nazi Racial Policy, or just study hollistically?

Decent science ranks imo, I'd say 89/90:), btw you'll need to try and attain at most two band 6's(I'm pretty sure you'll get one for Bio) and the rest band 5's for a 91, with a bit of work you can do this:)

That was for your trials, for the HSC you will have HSC supervisors they are the true Exam Nazi's, so I advise that you come in school uniform or you could potentially be sent home :)
