A random 2002 trial lol Guess the answer for the second one is wrong. Dunno about the first one. :confused2:

    HSC Biology Progression

I thought the first one was A as well, but the answers say D. Same for the second one, thought it was B, apparently it's D ? :frown2:

Random segregation: anaphase I Independent assortment: metaphase 1. when homologous chromosomes line up in the cell, they do this independently of each other (how one pair of chromosomes line up isn't dependent on what the rest of the pairs are doing). The example I used wasn't a great one soz.

H2 gas is produced. The gas is just floating around near the cathode I guess ? So the pop test would be right. Same with chlorine, the gas. Not ions.

    HSC Biology Progression

Random Segregation: Alleles for the same trait randomly separate from each other to produce haploid gametes that contain only one of the alleles. Example: Gg, G will end up in one gamete and g will end up in another. The word "random" is also important, pretty self explanatory. Basically means...

    Personalised writing booklets?

No, relax. You'll get all the options and you just write what question you're doing on the front of the writing booklets. Also, iirc your option writing booklets aren't personalised.

    Chemistry paper & Option

To produce NaOH, it's always brine - which is concentrated. The electrolysis of dilute NaCl solution is basically the electrolysis of water - which produces only 2 products, O2 and H2. The question asked for 3 products. So for this question, it was concentrated.

    Chemistry paper & Option

But to produce NaOH, electrolysis of brine occurs, not water? Cl- is oxidised and water is reduced. OH- seems okay to me as well, but who knows what's up with the marking criteria. Was there a question asking for the uses of NaOH? Great. Lol.

    Chemistry paper & Option

lol. :P I'm assuming you're talking about the Ba, Pb, Cu question, Firstly, it (part c) didn't specifically ask for the flame test. Just a test. You could've used precipitation if you wanted. Secondly, it was something along the lines of "Describe (or identify) a test that can be used to...

Amount of detail for these dotpoints

Order of detail: Third line (need to know quite a bit of detail for this) > second line > first line (2-3sentences on the main points should be enough for first line)

    Chemistry paper & Option

    Did you write H2, Cl2 and O2? What you could've written as the products: 1. O2 OR H2 2. Cl2 3. NaOH
