    Chemistry paper & Option

No, I thnk it's right. In a past HSC paper, the answers said " H2 or O2" .

    Chemistry paper & Option

Oh haha The full equation is 2NaCl + 2H2O --> Cl2 + H2 + 2NaOH So I thought the three products were Cl2, H2 and NaOH. I have no idea Edit: I might be wrong lol Maybe they'll accept both? But considering it's chemistry marking...

    Chemistry paper & Option

Do you think we had to specifically write OH-? I just wrote NaOH.

    General Thoughts

    Ya

    Band 6, Band 5,cutoffs?

I did the pop test for H2 gas?

    Multiple Choice

I did this just before the supervisor said pens down :(

    Multiple Choice

Nope. You know those batteries, like dry cell, lead-acid etc., they're not separated, but they're still galvanic cells.

I'm sooo screwed :( Question about assignment

The weighting isn't that high and it's just your first assessment I'm assuming, so dw about it (:

    Band 6, Band 5,cutoffs?

    Raw mark database, I guess.
  10. bedpotato

    Raw for band 6

    Probably ~56-58

    Multiple Choice

chlorine is being reduced at the cathode, but the actual electrode isn't 'made of' cl. Pt is used as the electrode because it's inert, and won't get attacked by chlorine.
  13. bedpotato

    Multiple Choice

chlorine isn't the electrode. it's Pt.

    Question? Stoichiometryyy

    Is it 3.88g ? :s

Isn't this just the thing with the nuclear reactors and particle accelerators/cyclotrons? btw, do you guys know the dot point on discoveries of radioisotopes? i know i'm not going to remember all of those names and how they were discovered :/

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive If so, can't this be applied to other liquids as well?

Chemistry (most and least favourite topics)

It doesn't really matter how harsh/easy the marking is as long as it's fairly consistent

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Hmm, okay. CO2 + H2O <---> H2CO3 So, adding water won't affect the equilibtrium?
