    AHIS140 and AHIS120

imo AHIS140 is the easiest ancient history unit out there, you have to be pretty thick not to pull a distinction or higher. The content itself is also super interesting, so it's a win win elective. I remember AHIS120 having a workload more akin to a 200 lvl unit than 100 lvl, not as easy to get...

    MQ Chatter Thread

^ Indeed it does. Also, besides the content, the unit also really hammers proper source evaluation and research skills into you. It sets you up very nicely to deal with harder assignments later on, the only other thing as valuable for this would be the prosopography assignment in AHIS110 Rome...

Desperatley Need Help! No Tax File Number!

I'm pretty sure that you just enrol as normal, but say that you'll be paying upfront instead of getting HECs/HELP. Once you get your TFN you just change this option online. As above, you must do this by the census date, which is usually a couple of weeks into semester, so you still have quite a...

In my fourth year as well, should have the non-honours part of my undergrad done this year (i only take 3 units a semester so i'm a bit of a slowpoke). Still not sure what i'll be doing afterwards with the whole abolition of honours thing, seriously thinking of doing masters instead but will...

    MQ Chatter Thread

Ooooooh i'm so glad you're doing Antiquity's Heirs! In my experience it's the least popular of all the 100 lvl AHIS units, despite easily being the best, Andrew Gillet is fantastic =p

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

No worries Just keep in mind this is what i know to be true from my own experiences in the B.Ahis and from what the hand book is telling me, you should still get academic advice when you go in to enrol to make 100% sure this is all good and correct (you will get compulsory academic advice on...

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

I had been told that B.ANC could do the ancient languages in their first year, but I couldn't see in the handbook how that was possible. I assume from your dp you want to do hieroglyphs, if you look up AHIS278 Egyptian Hieroglyphs A and look up the pre-requisites you will see: "12cp or...

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

You are required to take 9cp worth units of 100 lvl AHIS, yes. You don't necessarily have to do any or all of them in your first year, though most people of course do because they are keen to get stuck into ancient history and progress quickly through their degree (by accumulating the...

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

Do you mean you plan to take 9cp of ancient history units and 3cp worth of electives? If so, then yes, you would have 12cp under your belt by second year and would be free to take 200 lvl ENGL units with 12cp pre-requisites.

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

'12cp' refers to exactly that, 12cp from anywhere, not just english units. Whatever is in the handbook is what is available, units are added once in a while, but not often. If you didn't want to do ENGL120 you could pick two 200lvl ENGL units that do not require it, such as...

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

You don't necesarily need ENGL120 to do ENGL309 (depending on the units you take). Not all 200 lvl ENGL units require ENG120, again, make sure you check the handbook carefully before planning your units =]

Do I have to pick 100 level units for my electives?

You can take any unit you want, so long as it fits within your program of study and you meet the pre-requisites. Pre-requisites vary, always check the handbook.

Do people really give a crap about your Atar?

People at uni who still care about High School marks are generally seen as immature degenerate douchebags.

    Pet Stores, Employment and Qualifications?

Well if you have experience it's always good to mention it, it can only help. We hire older people as we primarily deal with fish and getting to know the in's and out's of water chemistry and such takes a while... Not too many kids are able to take it all in/actively apply the knowledge to...
