Why is it so freakin expensive to live on campus!?

Nah I do find things to do. I have done a bit of work here and there on the train. Usually I can do a bit of work, just listen to some music, or just relax for a bit from a hectic day. Driving every morning is ... well for me it's fun but depends on the driver you are. The bus ride usually has...

Can I get in B Combined Commerce?

In that case, if you are interested in Science and want to do Science/Commerce, then maybe do Advanced Science in your first semester and transfer into a combined program with Commerce after that? Otherwise Info Systems is not a bad starting point as I know someone who transferred half way...

    Help with clarification?

What specific field in industrial engineering are you looking into? That should be what decides your major. Industrial engineering is moreso a role in the workplace. You could be an industrial engineer as a Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mechatronic, Civil, etc Engineer.

Does EAS and HSC Plus bonus points stack?

Yes. The maximum you can have for HSC Plus is 5 bonus points. Alongside this you can have a maximum of 10 bonus points altogether due to other bonus points (such as EAS, EAP, AAA).

    UNSW AAA Award

You are correct. They changed it for this year onwards: Quite surprised they changed the specification actually.

When does UNSW release their 2015 ATAR cut offs? Also, what are my chances?

Depends on the situation but I would think you should get in so long as the cut-off stays below 85. Luckily EAS and HSC Plus are not mutual so that it's capped with 5 together. So if you have been deemed eligible you should be able to get a few EAS bonus points depending on the situation.

    UNSW AAA Award

Umm what. Your school has to nominate you (this should have been done about 2 months ago now as the closing date to nominate a student if I recall correctly is some time just before all HSC exams are completed) and if you accept an offer to go to UNSW then you get the $4000. Also, if you are 3...

UNSW Late round offers for Commerce

This pretty much. The cut-off sky rockets for later rounds as usually all the spots will be taken in main round for Commerce.

When does UNSW release their 2015 ATAR cut offs? Also, what are my chances?

You should be fine and most likely should be able to get in, but have a backup plan just in case.

Is it worth doing Electrical Engineering/Computer Science?

Do note with the BE ME, the minor is not written down on your graduation certificate. It is moreso something along the side which you are encouraged to use in interviews or for extra knowledge here and there or just out of personal interest. If you do minor in Computer Science, you will be doing...

Why is it so freakin expensive to live on campus!?

On this note: 1.25 to 1.75 hours per way. Was doing 6 days a week at one stage. No regrets :spin: You can opt to travel everyday if you can't afford accommodation. A lot of people do travel everyday. I'm not even in a terrible position. There are some people that travel more than me...

    Physics scores being very low?

True. I must say that is one very volatile faculty though.

    Physics scores being very low?

Last year must have been an exception then. There was something like 10 Band 6's in Physics last year.

Share your 2014 HSC results here

Clearly UAC uses amplitude modulation. In all seriousness, although I lost it at how you wrote up the above post, it actually does loosely explain the process in a way.

    What have you eaten today?

Pasta, Up and Go, Banananananana, about 100 g of chicken, about 200 g of bread, about 100 g of couscous, about 150 g of cooked mince meat.

Should I ask for a result check???

Keep in mind this does happen quite a bit. It's not uncommon. Pretty much this. If you think it is worth it, then you can do the clerical check (all they do is count up all your marks for each section again; they don't actually remark your paper or anything like that). However as I said above...

    ATAR calculation

There's a bit of both causing discrepancies when using ATAR calculators. The ATAR calculators are inaccurate in the fact that they do not have any sort of real scaling data for the current year yet, neither do they ever get them eventually (its all relative based on what the BOSTES gives for...

    Physics scores being very low?

Yeah bad memory. Nah so the aligning was poor, however the marking/paper ease combination was generous (as in more people got higher raw marks).

    Physics scores being very low?

Ok so actually for 2013 HSC Physics, the amount of Band 6's awarded was relatively higher by percentage compared to other years (usually around 8% to 8.5% get a Band 6 in Physics). Overall the numbers last year were also higher. So it seems that last year was an odd year with quite a large...
