There are little spots left in FINS1613 because many students who have been at uni for a year or more would rather do it semester one. Generally, many Engineering/Commerce students would do it in their second year first semester and I'm also stuck with it as a gen ed for first semester this year.

Call the faculty asap and confirm. You may have been confused with the person saying it could be a possibility that in future years entry to Law might be changed like that. It seems too little of notice for something like that to happen now for this year's entry.

I'm guessing you'll just use it for MS Office and the Internet so it should be fine. Tbh if I ever get a laptop for uni I'll probably get some low end Surface that does me the job.
