Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Embrace the struggle. You'll learn a lot out of it. Just keep your head up high and persist through it all. Make sure you don't completely neglect a course though

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Wow so MATH1151 actually use MATLAB. And we used Maple in MATH1141. MATLAB is so much more powerful. They should just make it standard for all first years to learn. They can teach Maple in later years for Science students.

No you get the money as long as you are still enrolled in your courses and have filled out the form correctly with all your bank details and stuff.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 First, make sure you re-apply for your HECS fees on myUNSW. Then, call this place up or talk to them in person. Try calling today (doesn't say their opening hours on the site at the moment). Otherwise go to them on Monday or call them up...

    Acct1501 & fins1613 resources/past exams

FINS1613 quizzes are pretty much based on questions found in the lecture slides, tutorial slides (if your tutor makes tutorial slides) and Myfinancelab.

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 You can just say that you were a bit unsure of what you were supposed to study at the time (I assume this is why you only did 3 courses in those semesters, otherwise just come up with whatever reason you had when you chose not to do a 4th course in those...

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 If you can justify it then I see no issue. Not all employers check all of your transcript in that depth though. Pre-requisites are usually there to catch out students who do not have the knowledge to even attempt the course. If you have the knowledge otherwise...

Can I do extension 1 maths???

It's better than covering 2 years in 2 months. Circle geometry isn't a very demanding topic and not much else in the MX1 course relies on it.

Can I do extension 1 maths???

I'd recommend trying to pick it up for engineering but it is a semester in... Talk to your school's maths staff. You could probably catch up on circle geometry in the 2 week school holiday.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Usually it means that you have satisfied pre-requisites. As for co-requisites you may be able to get away with it. Depends on the school and if they are on top of their shit or not. You should always keep track of who your program coordinator is. I've had...

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 E-mail your program coordinator and ask. Try to enrol in the course you want and if your enrolment is unsuccessful then you can e-mail the course convener for that semester and get them to automatically enrol you after you show them that you have satisfied all...

Multiple choice question 17 of 2014 past paper

This statement is false. The force on the alpha particle is doubled. This is different to acceleration.

Multiple choice question 17 of 2014 past paper

Alpha particle is roughly 4 times heavier than the proton. Force on the alpha particle is twice the force compared to that on the proton as it has twice the charge. However, F = ma, so the alpha particle accelerates at half the rate as the proton accelerates.

    Answer AlarmBell's Questions Thread

    Suppose polynomial p lies in \mathbb{P}_n and polynomial q lies in \mathbb{P} _m . For a solid proof I would do the following: Show for cases where n = 1 and m = 1, n = k, m = r. Then use induction, n = k+1, m = r+1. State that if p and q are both continuous for all complex/real...

    2nd Year Student questions

Also although I mentioned what industry you want to go in, look at industries that you want to go in. You can shift in between here and there quite a bit depending on what you like/dislike and the job market at the times. I suppose this is where your choice of the degree takes precedence...

    2nd Year Student questions

I've never looked at transfers because it has never concerned me sorry. What industry are you looking to work in once you graduate? For example, the power industry requires a lot of electrical and mechanical engineers and a few mechatronics engineers too. Robotics industry takes people from...
