What are your tutoring horror stories?

I've never been tutored before but I have tried tutoring one off lessons for family/friends before at no cost. My horror story is that one time I almost fell asleep tutoring someone. I then realised that it's best I don't do any one-on-one tutoring because it would be hard for me to teach...

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Yeah. Oh right that makes sense. It looks like a clash because it's overlapping. Yeah there's a postgrad course that I want to do that has always been 6 to 9 pm as well. Although depending on the courses I pick, I can get out of 9 am starts again.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Wait is that a clash or not? I keep thinking it's a clash. Is it clashing with itself?

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 It's because there's heaps of electives in later years and course conveners pick times that suit them. Some will look at all the other electives but others won't. For core courses the school usually dictates the mandatory times however. Usually clashes like that...

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Under the myUNSW tab "enrollment appointments", it will tell you exactly when. It won't be for another few weeks though. At least it's not 10 hours a day for a few days in a row, or a 12+ hour day.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Tbh I only know of two courses that I'm doing next sem. Still need to decide on what two other courses to do. Either way, I'm gonna have to choose at least one postgrad or fourth year course.

    Physics electricity model

Water is a more accurate way to show it, however it is messy. You would want your pump to be the lowest point (ie the pump is lower vertically than the rest of the circuit) and then have the pump push water from a sump upwards. Then have your fuse somewhere before you get to the highest point...

    Physics electricity model

Could make a paper tube that is analogous to a wire. Then, chuck marbles through the paper tube one by one at different time intervals. If you increase the time interval, it is equivalent to having less charge flowing through for a period of time, and hence lower current as current is the rate...

Which unis in Sydney offer a Degree in Computer Science?

QS rankings are really bad indicators for undergraduate study. I suggest you go to the universities yourself for open days or info days then make a decision as to what is best for you. Tailor your university experience for yourself to make the most of it. Don't follow the crowd just for the...

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Yeah you get to intern during a few of the breaks. That's pretty much all co-op programs. You would have known this before you received co-op.

Which unis in Sydney offer a Degree in Computer Science?

You can go further with a software engineering or computer science degree. Sure you can graduate as one or the other, but with experience you can become something else (eg could end up doing some form of computer engineering down the track even).

Which unis in Sydney offer a Degree in Computer Science?

Have you considered software engineering or computer engineering? If you want to do a bit more with hardware, then consider computer engineering. There's also UTS, UoW and a few other universities here in NSW that offer these and/or comp sci.

    biomedical engineering

Difficulty is subjective. Workload should be similar however. Biomedical engineering is a rather specific area. You'll find more job opportunities in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Nah the theory in HSC Physics is definitely applicable to those who do further Physics. The problem is that many people do PHYS1A and don't do anything more. That's where they say "oh it's nothing like HSC Physics" which I purely agree on. However you go on to...
