year 11 help (textbooks + binders or?)

You could consider using loose leaflets for Mathematics when doing questions and a workbook for notes. I made sure I just titled everything and stapled off sections to organise my math work in terms of doing questions. When I had to write 'notes' I kept a a4 workbook that was purely reserved...

Ext 1 and Ext 2 Math tips

If you're doing the HSC course this year for 3U and 4U my only word of advice is to make the most of this upcoming holiday. Get a group of friends or as the above post said maybe even a tutor and keep going through content. That way you have your own safety net in terms of risk when it comes to...

    English plagarism?

late reply but if I remember correctly papers get scanned and marked on the computer, I'd assume there would be a system to check if you're blatantly copying things. Same advise as everyone, best avoid doing it :read:

    Ext 2 maths?

You could technically create a safety net for yourself by doing 4U, that means if one your subjects ends up not performing well for your HSC your almost guaranteed a solid mark for 4U if your passionate about it. Personally if you've already completed the 2U/3U course I would take up the...

    Tips for timed conditions

I'd pay close attention to the clock, i.e. at 10 minutes you should have written your intro + first two sentences of body 1 etc. If you're able to give yourself deadlines you can actually start thinking on your feet a little more and adjust so you don't end up 'not finishing'. There's nothing...

Do we need to say which Stimulus we are using for creative?

I got in the habit of actually writing it at the front of my booklet, I was told that for my trials so I just repeated it. I don't think I got penalised but I'd probably check with the examiner if they were given any special instructions for that kind of stuff.

    paper one!

shouldn't you be studying :haha: But in all seriousness the day before my Paper 1 I was so confused as to what I had to be doing, I had my essays memorised and I even did a couple practice runs. The anticipation is the worst. In all if you've got things in your brain all you gotta make sure...

    Plagarising in the HSC?

Not a good habit at all, even if you get away with it, this is something that is bound to catch up with you.

    Clutch Band 6 Stories

You will in university. The best success story is having a plan of continuous improvement no matter how Year 12 goes.

Should I drop economics or general maths?

Looks like you really enjoy your Englishy subjects, I would drop maths only if your ready to write another 2-3 essays for Economics for your HSC exam.

    Standard English

Was just about to say that it helps if you did 4U haha, OP I hope your other subjects are good scaling!

Do bonus points work on Fixed ATARs?

I go to Usyd and as far as I can remember they barely give bonus marks. You'd have to get it through some form of scholarship.

    What subject should I drop?

I did similar subjects and I ended up dropping business studies (I ended up doing Legal, Eco, 4U maths, 3U english) only because it was dry. I felt that the course was based off common sense and it wasn't as engaging as the other courses I had. If you're taking my opinion, I would drop business...

    Discovery AOS urgent

I would probably have a look at the resources on this website, I personally don't have anything else I can publicly share.

Should I consider Maths Ext 2?

Pretty much this, I was just told it as an analogy from my 4U tutor haha, gave me inspiration to ace it. I think his message was all about 4U having such a great scaling on your ATAR.

    AOS short answers

You can think of it like 1 mark = 1 quote + technique + explanation. So if you have a 3 marker expect to have a solid first line that answers the question and then 2-3 sentences each having their own quote + technique + explanation.

    Thesis Statements?

for Module B you have the opportunity to provide critical material which could come in the form of a quote from a philosopher or literary academic in the conclusion, other than that I wouldn't quote from the text.

    Discovery AOS urgent

well seeing as you're doing your HSC in 3 days and you are asking for an essay very specifically I'll be straight forward and just say you'll be much better off memorising quotes and arguments. There are a lot of public resources out there, you can have a look at this...

    Has everyone finished memorising yet?

tbh I actually used the time after paper 1 to properly memorise my mod C, you'll be fine but definitely get cracking.
