    Integration Q

    1) S (2x+3)/sqrt(4-x^2) dx 2) S (1-2x)/sqrt(x^2+2x+10) dx I know that you have to split up the integrals in both questions into partial fractions but don't know how to equate with the square roots. I've used trig. substitutions and got the answer but i want to do it using partial fractions.

    Complex Locus

    1) Sketch: arg(z-(1+i)) = arg(z-(-2+5i)) Is it just the line via the points excluding the points. 2) Sketch: arg(z-(1+i)) = arg(1-(-2+5i))+pi 3) Sketch: arg(z+3-i) = arg(z-(2-i)) Just need some tips at drawing complex locus.

    Parametrics tangent problem.

    P(at^2,2at) is an arbitrary point on the parabola y^2=4ax with Focus S(a,0). i) Show that the tangent at P has equation x=ty-at^2. y^2=4ax d/dx (y^2) = d/dx (4ax) 2y.y' = 4a where y=2at. y' = 4a/2at. y' = 1/t but the gradient of the tangent is meant to be t. I think the question is...

    Complex Number Q

On an Argand diagram the points P and Q represent the complex number z1 and z2 respectively. OPQ is an equilateral triangle. Show that (z1)^2 + (z2)^2 = 2z1.z2 Got this: (z1-z2)^2=0 If z1=z2. then LHS=RHS. Vector angles are : pi/3.
