    I'm getting a bit bored of rippetoe. I think if you're lifting for 'general strength' like a football team or something he's fine, but for powerlifting, olympic lifting or bodybuilding he just has a general idea of how to approach it.

    I know where you guys are going with this and I agree with you - I wouldnt directly recommend squats for building shoulders, but I think the core 5 in unison would develop them and squats are part of that core.
