If you're getting 51% then it means you don't have the grasp of the fundamental concepts so I'd focus on getting those definitions/etc downpat. The higher mark areas from extended response come from being able to apply those fundamental concepts/definitions/etc. and whilst they can pay...

In all honesty I don't think it matters that much. It'll help in extended response type questions and on assignments but depending on university, you may be up against people with an extremely minimal or limited grasp of written English.

I assume it's similar to other HSC papers in which case as long as it's not dependent on a preceding response, no reason you can't jump around. I never did extension 2 maths but in the other subjects I was happy to jump around.
