questions in this test required so much effort man.. definitely one of the hardest tests out of homebush. lol i reckon the results for this test are going to be horrid. the difficulty of this test was blown out of proportion to our previous ones

nah bro im expecting derek to top.. iirc, he got all the questions except a few parts of the last series question. with the second last question (15), i skipped the last part with the 2 circles, and i skipped the last 2 parts of the parabola + circle question. fml. with the last question, i...

    Integrating Logarithmic Functions

Following the question, divide numerator and denominator by cos^2x, so \frac{sec^2x}{9 - tan^2x} Now using a suitable substitution.. then partial fractions.. :)

    Chem HSC help

I should have phrased myself differently. Yes, you can use it, but wouldn't bromothymol blue be more correct?

    Chem HSC help

lol thanks, funny because i got this same thing wrong a few weeks ago == Now this is definitely drilled in to me haha

    Chem HSC help

No you can't use phenolphthalein, it changes too late/early (depending which way you titrate it). Ideally, you want an indicator that changes colour right at the equivalence point, where one of the bounds is exactly where the equivalence point will be. Since we can't do that, we pick...

    Chem HSC help

Because it's a weak acid, it will not completely ionise compared to the strong monoprotic acid. So there will be more H+ ions in the strong monoprotic acid solution than in the weak acid solution. This means it would require a smaller volume of base (because there will be less OH- ions) to...

    Chemistry Help :D

I think you do limiting reagent calculations, don't remember though.

    missing solutions for trig equation??

Never do it. If you divide both sides by sinx, you're assuming that sinx cannot equal to 0 (you cannot divide by 0) so you end up losing a solution (or multiple solutions depending on the domain).

    Looking for solutions

If possible, could you put up the solutions as well so we could mark it? lol Clearly you've eased up a bit on the difficulty without realising it :P Need to make them more challenging.

Will have some fun tonight. :) Thanks

    P-N Junctions in Solar Cells

Why is it that light has to hit the n-type semiconductor? Wouldn't that just promote electrons from the donor level to the conduction band so that there's a free electron but no hole? I thought light has to hit the depletion layer to promote an electron from the valence band to the conduction...

Photoelectric effect, Stopping voltage, Kinetic energy max... IMPORTANT!!

So the work function is the minimum energy required for an electron to be emitted by the metal. This energy can be supplied by a photon (as photons carry energy proportional to frequency by E = hf) The minimum frequency at which this energy can be attained (to supply/overcome the work...
