    Technique associated with this?

Could you provide a link to the image? Basic examples of visual techniques include vectors, foreground/background, visual hyperbole, visual metaphor, visual motif, visual juxtaposition, chiaroscuro, composition of the frame, primary focus, perspective etc.

    Related text QUESTION !!!

It depends on how you analyse the related text. You need to analyse BNW in terms of conflicting perspectives and not in terms of Science Fiction (as it is studied in Ex1), i.e. you shouldn't make a connection between the two courses. If you are actually doing BNW as an Ex1 text then I would...

Same creative for belonging and NTG?

I would definitely recommend it, however only if you can successfully mould your response to the requirements of both courses. Belonging is a somewhat broad concept and therefore you would probably be able to adapt an English Extension 1 creative to belonging quite easily. I know alot of people...

    Frankenstein !

It's because it's a terrible novel. I mean, we get it, science is bad. :P

    deswa1's raw exam marks

Nice marks. Eco is interesting. I got a 97 exam mark and I know that I got 2 multis wrong and I wasn't particularly confident about a couple short answers (so max I got raw was 96 probably). The exam was much too easy imo, in previous years a raw mark of 94/100 was a state rank. :P

    General Thoughts: Ancient History

Yeah, I did differing interpretations of him as a general, as a politician, of his reforms + plans for the future (i.e. statesman vs pragmatist), of his personality and of his writings. Not too sure if I talked enough about "images" as I kinda just lumped interpretations and images together, but...

    General Thoughts: Ancient History

^ Cut off is usually around 83/100, and I don't think this year was any harder or easier than previous years (although P&H was a little obscure). Getting 88-91 will align to a 94 or 95.
  12. JasonG123

What do you think the band 6 cut off would be?

In 2010, 93 was a state rank (although that exam was very hard and ours was easier than most years). Still, there's no way the cut off would be above 90, it is usually low 80s and will therefore probably be mid 80s this year.

    Multiple choice Q

Inflation = (CPI current year - CPI previous year)/(CPI previous year). Don't make the mistake that an increase in CPI means an increase in inflation. It's all relative to the previous year.

Are the Top 10 schools pretty much guaranteed at least an 80 atar?

Yeah but I doubt that's the norm. We're not a selective school so naturally we have a very long tail.

Are the Top 10 schools pretty much guaranteed at least an 80 atar?

My school came in the top 10 last year (according to % of band 6s) and we still got 12% of the cohort below an 80 ATAR.

Likeliness of mandating Mod B text again?

There are so many variables in english exams that it's highly likely you're going to be fucked up somewhere. Whether it's specifying a poem, saying you shouldn't write an essay (e.g. telling you to write a speech), asking a weird question or specifying the amount of related texts, you can be...

    How to increase writing speed?

You're right. I'm an idiot. Congrats on your marks.
  18. JasonG123

    How to increase writing speed?

If you've rote learned a response the extra stuff won't be fluff because you would have prepared it beforehand. You won't have "some material," if you've memorized content, and you won't find yourself under pressure or scratching around for points. You can make your points fit the question very...

    How to increase writing speed?

It generally is. Writing 1200 words of quality is better than writing 900 words of quality. That just seems obvious.
  20. JasonG123

    How to increase writing speed?

I'm aware of what most people do. Most people don't get a band 6.
