    ATAR estimate

^^ Yeah so you're probably looking at 97-98. Although you have the potential to get any ATAR you want, even into the 99s. Congrats on the ranks and marks btw, which are obviously very good.

    ATAR estimate

98ish. Ultimately it's up to you to smash externals because you're basically first in everything (except maths which probs won't count). What does the highest person in each English course usually get at your school? And do you think you will do better/worse than them? Because that mark is...

    is it bad?

IMO that's pretty stupid. It's all well and good marking harder than the HSC in order to get students to further improve their essays come HSC time, but marking that low is just going to discourage people, which can be extremely detrimental. My school regularly ranks in the top 5 in english and...

Will I be getting an ATAR of <30?

Actually, then you might be looking at <30. I hear the BOS studies take to kindly to names, we're all just numbers within the HSC. :P

Is Microeconomic policy used for internal balance?

Btw, I read the question as internal stability instead of internal balance, so my previous response didn't really include how microeconomic policy can influence full employment, but it should have. Internal balance is both a short term and long term objective. Improving internal balance is...

Is Microeconomic policy used for internal balance?

Micro policy is pretty significant in achieving internal balance but I suppose you could argue it was misleading because the stimulus guided you towards macro policy and I suppose most of the stuff is indirect (although it still is a long term goal). However, off the top of my head: 1)...

Perfect related text - COMMUNITY (TV Series)

This is amazing (I was considering doing Community as a related text as well, but went with something more generic). Have you seen the finale of season 3? You could talk about the motif of "mitosis" as an allegory for their collective identity/sense of belonging. :P

    CSSA Ancient History thoughts?

^^ That was my thinking as well. I figured they would be referring to the time of the eruption so I put aqueduct. The multiple choice questions are ridiculously stupid. I don't think there is another subject that gives multiple choice questions that are actually designed to trick you instead...

    CSSA Ancient History thoughts?

Damn you ambiguous multiple choice! The rest was fine.

    Trial are very soon

Doing past papers will only come closer to the exams (in the final 1-2 weeks), although i have done a couple for 3u and 4u maths (even though those exams are on the 10th and 13th respectively). Currently just going over the theory, and doing questions from the textbook (for maths).

    generic essays?

Ideally, you want to be able to adapt the specific essay you've written in another specific question they give you. It's not about being being to write a generic essay, it's about having the ability to adapt the specific essay you've written to an entirely different question. It's not so hard...

    ATAR estimate

99.5+. If you maintain those ranks, improve english (biggest concern) and do really well externally you might have an outside chance at above 99.8.

Describe your HSC with a song title.

I just feel like my ear is constantly being hacked off.

    HSC English

Well, firstly, it's only one creative (unless you're doing Extension 1 in which case it would be 5 essay). Honestly, you're better off learning your essays and then being confident about adapting it to the question rather than learning quotes, techniques etc. What you can produce in a term is...

    How's everyone's trial prep going?

^^ Well, for instance, starting at 8am in the morning, which gives them 3 or 4 more hours of working time than I do. But I really don't have the motivation to do that.

Please help me estimate my ATAR for this year?

It's hard to estimate due to your relatively low school ranking and relatively small cohort. But you're probably looking at high 80s (87-89) at this point or perhaps even scraping 90. 90 is definitely still achievable at this point, so keep working!
  17. JasonG123

    How's everyone's trial prep going?

Not compared to what some other people are doing. I can't compete with them.

"Student challenges ruling on her HSC"

Re: Not happy with 99.95 ATAR! I couldn't imagine tying that much of your self worth to you ATAR mark. :P

    How's everyone's trial prep going?

When are everyone's trials? Are they as soon as you get back to school or a couple weeks after. Mine begin in week three, so I've essentially been finishing off all my notes until now and fixing up all my english essays, as well as doing some (if very little) maths. Next week I'm going to start...
