    Orthogonal matrices

hmm definition one: the matrix M has the property that M*transpose(M) = Identity matrix. by extension, a matrix whose inverse is it's transpose definition two: A square matrix with orthonormal columns. definition three: A matrix representing an Isometric map from R^n into itself that is |Ax|...

They might still accept ppl. I mean.. in practice there's no problem admitting an extra person when a course is running

    Complex number question

    True. that said, it's not that long to derive the polar form let z = 1 + 3i + r[cos(t) + i sin(t)] then you get r=9/(5-4cos(t))

You can get in 2nd year if they kick someone from first year out due to bad grades

    Complex number question

Agreed but then it depends on how you define an "imaginary number", I don't see why including 0 is not a sensible interpretation. It's just like the question: what is a natural number? It was quite fashionable in the past (not so remote either) to exlcude zero, now almost every text I...

Second that. ... Idiots who think they are all that.

Actuarial Studies International Recognition-Mac or UNSW

You've missed the coop program (although there might be a small chance to get in 2nd year) I don't think there's much of a difference between the universities, it comes down to your intelligence, effort and perhaps some luck. UNSW has an engineering faculty (Mac doesn't) and seems to have a...

How do you get 2Theta from z^2 ?

    expand (cos[t] + i sin[t])(cos[s] + i sin[s]) you should get cos[t+s] + i sin[t+s] by using suitable trig identities then it's obvious

    Syllabus development

AMSI runs summer sessions now and then.. I find logic quite yucky at the moment. it really f**ks with your mind why are you taking PHIL2001 if you are taking COMP4141, don't be lazy... I think COMP4141 also cover the basic maths course.. but from a slightly different perspective. sorry for...

Maths version, includes the first and second incompleteness theorems. not at UNSW though, they aren't running it any more due to insufficient enrolment.

    Syllabus development

it's valid in some sense, it shows that given any n you can write a proof under some reasonable assumptions(eg peano arithmetic or some second order logic), it's not a valid inference under the usual first order logic formulation of the natural numbers. by the way/ My logic exam is on the 8th...

    another crummy Q from coroneos

well person B has the same salary rate as A for the first half of every year, while for the 2nd half, he receives salary at a rate 500 more than that of A. so he receives 500*(1/2)*10 = 2500 more I think you forgot about the half year factor.

    I don't do maths

Don't do maths if it is really a issue, but I think it's best to have a diverse collection of subjects for the HSC.. ideally 4 Units of "Writing" subjects 2+ Units of maths another language and some other subjects depending on ones inclination
