Application for HECS is done at the university on the day. They give you various array of forms to fill out, with one of them pertaining to payment details (i.e. HECS). Make sure you bring your TFN along as well.

As long as you change your first preference by the deadline for the February offers, you will be considered.

Can I change my enrolled courses?

Usually the deadline day for enrolment comes up a few weeks into Semester 1, so yes, you have plenty of time to change.

    (Hon)?

By reaching a certain WAM (commonly in first year), faculties offer students who have reached that benchmark a position in an honours course. Usually an Honours course is defined by a set number of advanced units and a passing completion of a honours thesis. It often depends on your...

Congratulations to all of you who have been offered your first preference. Your perseverance has paid off. To those who missed out, don't be dismayed. As long as you do well during your first year, there's always a good chance of being able to transfer. Looking forward to seeing another...

Keeping up with current economic data & issues?

I tend to use The Economist for international economic data in the general sense (e.g. unemployment rate, economic growth). Saves having to go to the numerous websites of each country's official economic organisations.

    Reminder: Tax File Number

Just a reminder to students who are beginning university. Universities tend to ask for students to disclose their tax file number (TFN) in regards to payment for courses (e.g. HECS debt). To prevent any panic, I suggest all prospective students to obtain a TFN as soon as possible. If you have...

    Laptops for Uni

Re: Laptop Vs Paper A notepad is appropriate when doing science subjects (including maths) as diagrams and numbers are difficult to write down on a laptop. A laptop should be fine for anything else. Personally, I've only used notepad during lectures. So much more compact and light with a...

a question for application of combined couse for Bscience(advanced maths)‏ in USYD

Re: a question for application of combined couse for Bscience(advanced maths)‏ in U Don't take my word for it but I'm sure the Advanced Mathematics is just a major. If you apply for B.Comm/B.Sci, during orientation you will be able to customise your units to satisfy the Adv. Math major...

What do you need to bring to uni?

Depends what you have on a certain day. If I only have lectures, then generally I only bring a single notepad and a pencil case. If I have tutorials as well, I bring the respective exercise book with the corresponding tutorial sheet for the week. Also brought a lab coat for first year as I had...

    Bonus points

It seems the only way you can get into B.MedSci would be to do something like a B.Sci for your first year and then transfer to MedSci in your second year. I wouldn't be too disheartened by going down this route as the first year subjects in both these degrees are similar.

So how many days do you spend in uni per week?

19 contact hours, 5 days a week for Semester 2. It's a 1 hour addition from Semester 1 with a change from a 4 hour bio prac per fortnight to a 3 hour bio prac weekly. I knew this year would be a dud.
