    CHEM1001 question

Looking at the following link: http://firstyear.chem.usyd.edu.au/chem1001/lecturers.shtml It seems that for both streams, the lecturers are the same so I'm guessing that they would take each lecture at the same pace as the other. If your timetable is really that bad, it looks like a safe risk...

    Timetables & MATH1901 & MATH1903

Don't worry too much about being scheduled for 8AM lectures. I know many people last year who were in that situation, and they just skipped those ones in favour of the other lecture streams.

    fucking timetables

I have a mock timetable prepared with Thursday and Friday free but I am not sure if I should celebrate just yet. For AGEC2103, they still haven't got the tute times up yet. Considering there won't be many people doing it, I don't have much flexibility with less classes running so I have to hope...

Post Your 2011 Semester 1 Timetable Here

Try to find out if there are any other lecture streams you can go to which don't conflict with your timetable.

    fucking timetables

Anyone recall when we were ACTUALLY able to make our timetables last year? They say O-Week but I do recall it may have been on the Friday the week before. Reason I really need to know is because I have a 5 day faculty excursion to Northern NSW starting O-Week at 7:30AM so I may be without...

So how long does it take you to get to uni and back?

Takes 1 hour from my door to Redfern Station by train. The additional time added is dependent on where my first lecture/tute is.

    24 credit points or more?

Basically you would pick up extra units if you are either bored, want to lighten the load in future semesters, or want to finish your degree faster. I wouldn't recommend doing it in your first year because you need to grasp the workload of university work before you make decisions like this.

    24 credit points or more?

Unless you are absolutely gunning all your units, I wouldn't recommend picking up extra UoS during a semester, especially if this is your first year at university. Often you have to go to the Dean of your faculty for permission to do extra units and to my belief, they will reject any approach by...

Usyd Orientation Day- is it compulsory?

Not compulsory at all. Didn't attend my orientation day and have never come across any problems. As long as you are self sufficient, there's no real reason to go. If you don't have anything else to do, then you can go if you wish.

    question about lectures/timetabling

Also, there are occasions where they decide to hold a quiz in a lecture rather than a tutorial (like the BIOL units) so if such a situation occurs, you MUST attend the lecture you are timetabled for.

    Laptops for Uni

Re: Is there any use bringing a laptop to uni? During the Integral Calculus and Modelling lectures (MATH1003) I had last year, I often watched a group of guys play Mario Kart 64 on an emulator for the whole hour. The guy even brought in a couple of PS3 controllers and mapped the controls to the...

Uni, 4hrs straight of lessons too much?

When a lab is scheduled for 3 hours (or more), it won't be necessarily that long. You can leave a lab whenever you want after you get your name marked off (if you want to be recorded for attendance). You may find that labs never actually run for the entire scheduled time, with the extra time...
