Commerce No open book exams for any of the 1st year compulsory subjects. Maybe for actuarial studies but definitely none for accounting,finance, business stats, economics or marketing.

Elective portfolios are just like your core portfolios. The only difference being that it should have more in depth research on the period that you are studying. But it's all up to the teacher, since only they mark the portfolio. Better ask if your teacher is completely anal about referencing etc.
