    the heardest hsc paper??

I did well except for question 8.. When i tried to find the minimum cost for running the cableing to the oil-rig, the minimum i came up with was HIGH than a straight line across the sea.

    help! 2U Maths question

O lawd, when i did part i), i simply said that dx/dt = speed. Speed is inversly propoportional to depth of snow. depth of snow is proportional to time. THus speed is inversly proportional to time. Hmm... Would you lose marks for not explaining it.. "mathamatically"

    Edited when i realized i wasn't anonymous.

    velocity/time graphs - HELP!!

If a curve has a positive gradient below the X-axis it could be describing a few things. If its a displacement graph, it means that the object is returning to the starting position. If its a velocity graph, that means the object is travelling AWAY from the starting position, but the speed...

    velocity/time graphs - HELP!!

It is true the velocity is 0, But that doesn't mean the acceleration is 0 also. Acceleration is the change in velocity, therefore; velocity is 0 only when there is no change in acceleration. If the object is at rest, it does not mean that that there is no acceleration acting upon it...

    velocity/time graphs - HELP!!

It's a little complex, but the principles don't change. At the begining of the graph, from points 0 to 1, we notice that the velocity graph is stagnant. There has been no acceleration done upon this object. From 1 to 2 we notice a steep fall in the velocity, caused by some negative...

    velocity/time graphs - HELP!!

Displacement graphs... (y = displacement, x = time) Imagine the graph as a sorta, physical plane, the further away from the x-axis the line gets, the further away from its "start position" it gets. The closer it gets to the x-axis, the closer it gets BACK to where it started. (Ie the X-axis...

    Help! Discriminant help

The main point to notice here is that you can use the discriminant not just to find when a parabola touches an axis line, but also when in (or when not) it touches another line, by equating them with eachother, then using the discriminant processes onto the resulting line.

    Help! Loan Repayments Question

I'v always had a problem with these types of questions but never got the chance to experiment to figure it out. My problem is: Does it matter if the interest is applied first, and THEN the repayment is made?

Any Tips for Q9 and Q10 in HSC

All i'm going to recomend is, read the book "How to solve it" By a man named Polya. It outlines the processes in mathamtical problem solving that work for most problems, and a way of thinking about problems in general. Although 2u test being tommorow, i doubt it'd be worth attempting to...

What bos said about the sor 2009 hsc exam

Yeah, their probably not going to count your section III. Which might not be as big of a loss as it normally would've been any other year.

What bos said about the sor 2009 hsc exam

I'v said this before but, people themselves are not to blame. The BOS is to blame. Not because they SET that question in the exam, but because they had been rewarding regurgitation for pretty much YEARS now. They've trained some of these people to become mindless regurgitation, by awarding...

    the heardest hsc paper??

The snow one was very entertaining to think about though. Props to the marker who thought to put it in.

Studies of Religion- Board of Studies response to Section 3

The only thing i can blame the BOS for is "training" these students to regurgitate answers, and reinforcing this behavior with marks, and then swiftly crippling people's ability to regurgitate. I don't even think this was done intentionally by the BOS, to the man/woman who wrote this exam...

A machine. Im more worried about who's going to design it.

Studies of Religion- Board of Studies response to Section 3

I posted this elsewhere but: The problem with the SOR question this year is it asked a question an inteligent human would be able to answer, but a regurgitating machine that had a prepared answer wouldn't. and i think that's the problem. The Board of studies is confused on their opinion on...

The problem with the SOR question this year is it asked a question an inteligent human would be able to answer, but a regurgitating machine that had a prepared answer wouldn't. and i think that's the problem. The Board of studies is confused on their opinion on regurgitation vs a complete...
