The University of Sydney Open Day - 25 August

I only went to USYD today so I can't compare whether it was good or bad, but: - Performances were sort of boring... lol'd at the Kendo demonstration - Legs hurt like crazy (and still do) - Student ambassadors were pretty kind and helpful actually - Those shiftable lecture tables (in their desk...

    B Engineering / Project Management?

I'm considering Eng and heard that there's this new degree @ USYD that combines it with BPM (5yrs).. Do you guys think the double degree is worth it? Does it really mean you have higher job prospects and you practically have a big advantage in being promoted to a management position? .. Because...

    Should I do Chemistry?

Not sure if it'll help but here's my advice.. I wasn't very good in junior science..hated it too because whatever I studied and however much effort I put into it, the exams were always different compared to what we learnt..or maybe it's because I only dead memorized stuff instead of...

    BOS Proposal

I'm a female!! Though I personally feel quite confident with these subjects... so I will try to write up a paper but if it doesn't work then I won't waste my time and continue studying instead

    BOS Proposal

And I think I can write a chemistry and IPT paper too... unless someone else are already doing these??

    Hand writing...

In that case I think it's a decision between whether you want to write more for the exam but risk getting very low mark.. because HSC markers skim essays and if they can't read your writing the first time off then they're only marking what they can see, they won't go back over it again

    BOS Proposal

Vote in the poll if you think the BOS admin/moderators should create official trial test papers like the CSSA and Independents (to be used for BOS members, not to actually sell them to schools) :spin:

    Why not 100 ?

^ Don't understand that. I thought yr7 cohort = yr12 cohort + those who dropped out.. but since they dropped out, then they won't be sitting for the exams, and therefore they shouldn't be included in the percentiles anymore

    Chemistry 2012 Help Thread

Yes I know that too, but I don't understand how buffer systems work in rivers/lakes and blood For example, apparently for the river one you have to talk about the dissolved salts (???) and for the blood, I don't understand how breathing/exhaling/muscles relate to the H+ ????

    Chemistry 2012 Help Thread

Was waiting for this to be posted back up. Question: I know the definition of a buffer solution (a mixture of comparable amounts of a weak acid and its conjugate base such that when significant amounts of acids/bases are added, the pH remains constant), and there examples of buffer solutions...

    COMMUNiCATIONS SYSTEM HELP

It also might be easier if you post a Q on whatever you're having trouble understanding, so we can quick reply you instead of having to read a whole textbook before you get your answer

What's an ocr( reply by thursday night would be good its for the trials)

That ^ For example, it can be used in software such as, - Scanning a paper document, then allowing the OCR to process the document so that the scanned image is converted into a word document where you can digitally edit the master copy - In fast speed cameras to digitise the car plate so that...

Ted Hughes essay - something's wrong with it?

Could somebody please take a look at my essay? My teacher said there needs to be a more "dense discussion" of Hughes' poems, but I'm not quite sure what she means by that.. I asked if she meant I needed to synthesise it more but she said no.. Can somebody take a quick look and tell me what she...

During the reading time for Paper1 English, will you be kicked out if you fold the page to 'underline/mark' the quote?

Electrolysis of Na2(SO4) SOLUTION with two Carbon electrodes??

So the positive terminal is connected to the positive Carbon electrode, and vice-versa for the negative terminal. Now how do you know which electrode will undergo oxidation? (with proof) - answer is positive electrode undergoes oxidation = anode
