Electrolysis of Na2(SO4) SOLUTION with two Carbon electrodes?? (1 Viewer)

So the positive terminal is connected to the positive Carbon electrode, and vice-versa for the negative terminal.

Now how do you know which electrode will undergo oxidation? (with proof) - answer is positive electrode undergoes oxidation = anode

At the positive terminal, electrons are being taken from the solution and into the external circuit. As electrons are being taken from solution, we know that an oxidation is occurring. And hence it is labelled the anode as oxidation occurs at the anode.

And also, why is it different to the positive and negative electrodes of galvanic cell?
