I go to a public school, but admittedly private schools do offer more resources/facilities. For example, when I visit private school websites, like Abbotsleigh, it really amazes (but doesn't surprise) me that some schools like that have musical halls (JUST FOR MUSIC!!), swimming pools, gyms...

My friend got 99/100 for 2U, 49/50 for 3U maths. She used Maths in Focus and Jones and Couchman, not really books you would consider to be difficult. But you have to assess the need for a hard textbook: perhaps, getting a difficult textbook is good for 4U maths, but if you're not a maths...

In 2007, 2U maths scaled better than physics. They usually scale about the same.

We get a wrap up on the HSC results. "This year we got x number of premier award recipients!" Then we'll get a lecture on how we're in year twelve. Followed by getting timetables and diaries. Then we'll be dispersed and school will resume :(!

I think the minimum required for med at UNSW is standard English.

I don't think the school you go to will affect your results. If it does, I don't imagine it to be that big. Just focus on your own studies, and don't fall into the trap of "oh, my school's ranked highly, and it won't matter if I slack off because my peers will push me up."

Aw, that's a shame. And it's so much work for a 1u subject. My MW is going fine... if a little late I suppose. The bright side is that you're acing your subjects, don't have the stress of a major work and have some free periods.
