The stress of doing well in your exams

I've been studying quite a bit, 1 hour a day for a while now :D

    Acidic and Basic Salts

Yeah this stuff was confusing for me at first. The best way to understand it is to write equilirbrium reactions with what the anion and cation of the salt will do and then decide whether this reaction can happen or not. for example ammonium chloride - NH4Cl. NH4 + h20 <-> NH3 + h30, this...

    4 unit maths

I find 4unit around the same gap to 3unit as 2 unit to 3unit. Also, the course flows nicely and links well, compared to 3unit maths it's all over the place! Just make sure you do lots of practice and you'll be fine :D

How many Past Papers have you done?

Honestly, you should do around 150 past papers leading up to your hsc exams. Any less and don't expect an E4...Seriously some of you are very gullible :O. I wouldn't do more than 5 past papers for these half yearlies. 10 at max. You have other subjects to worry about and mx2 should be the least...

    MATHS EXT 1: advice please

Of course you are going to struggle with year 12 if you don't understand the preliminary content. But there's been a year for you to understand it and there's no reason why you can't do well in yr 12 even if you do bad in yr 11.

How to study for half yearly Mathematics 3 unit

If you are struggling with maths, it's probably more important that you understand the concepts rather than do past papers.

Anyone know what raw mark is needed for a 98 or 99 in 3U Maths?

Usually around 58 is a 90 based on the raw marks people get. After that it aligns evenly. So 2.6 raw hsc marks roughly for 1 hsc mark.

    GENERAL HSC QUERY! help please

Although only 1% of people got a band 6, this does not neccessarily equivilate to a low atar. The BOS takes this into account scales your marks accordingly. Atar is a rank in comparison to the rest of the people doing the Hsc so therefore even if you may have got say 89 in 2001, then this would...

Quick question about the answer to 2005 maths paper

Well you see, the water does not drain at a uniform rate. It drains the most initially then gradually drains less and less. That is why in the first 20 minutes , 2000 L has drained which equivilates to 100L per minute on average in the first 20 minutes. Don't do that method to answers questions...

    Binomial Theorem Questions

But even if you did get R < 5. How would you know taht by subbing in x = 1/3 you would get the greatest numerical answer. Because x^3 and x^4. If x = 1/3. the total answer of x^3 is 3 times greater than x^4 now.

    Binomial Theorem Questions

i reckon they are the hardest 3unit topic @_@.

    Cambridge 4U Ex4.2 Q8

It just seemed wierd to me, this seems too easy to be posted up. Maybe it was all the wording that confused pyro.

    Binomial Theorem Questions

    I'm quite rusty, haven't touched 3unit in 4-5 months. Did you use the T(r+1)/T(r) = (n-r+1)/r?

    Cambridge 4U Ex4.2 Q8

wait, isn't this just equating coefficients?
