    Uni or Apprenticeship

Teaching and being a electrician/mechanic are like two vastly different things. As above which would you prefer? You can make good money even without a degree or certificates. As you go along the spectrum of education/training more opportunities are available for you to make money. At the end...

What opportunities does a STAT test open up for you?

Isn't it required for certain courses like pharmacy?

    living @ UNSW

1)How do you plan to pay for this? Family? Work? Centrelink? 2)Depends on the type of person you are and the funds you have available. 3)What are you hoping for? Again as above + the type of people your living with/around. So more information is needed.

    LEGT 1710 - Assignment 2 - First/Third Person?

Your given a sample answer for a reason. Your report should be written in the same vain. (reports across any discipline are usually third person and past tense). Remember to address all parties and the issues on both sides, apply with case/statue law (what are the similarities and differences...

Well over1/2 through degree. Stick at it or drop out?

I guess I should proceed until benefits = costs then I'll maximise profits? However these benefits can't be reliably measured whilst the costs with continuing with education and opportunity costs can be somewhat reliably measured. So my cost benefit analysis would be a pretty bad approximation...

Well over1/2 through degree. Stick at it or drop out?

Each semester that passes I become less motivated to "further" my education. I don't know where my passions and interests lie. I had no idea what I wanted to pursue straight out of High School so I just chose the most "prestigious degree". The years since HS I've been on auto pilot and this...

    Thoughts on UNSW open day?

The Basser stairs are horrible especially if you have to walk up and down them multiple times a day. And some of you guys who say its easy seem like your referring to another set of stairs. The bus rides, you haven't seen anything yet. 10 min walk vs 15 minute buss ride (+15 waiting time). I...

What do you do if you end up with shitty group members for group projects?

So you can choose from beyond your tutorial? Thats abit slack.

Social Discrimination (Whites vs Asians, Westies, Bogans)

Since the Caucasians populace refer to themselves as White in this context, i find it appropriate. The problem is two fold without a doubt but there is a time and a place. The incessant bitching i hear. If you think the issue doesn't exist then its you who's turning a blind eye.

Social Discrimination (Whites vs Asians, Westies, Bogans)

My whole FINS class shits on the "West" throughout the entire tutorial (most of them live around UNSW and East (+north/south)) A ECON tutor upon blatantly calling out international students and the like. and the clearly evident segregation between nationalities and "Whites" calling/denigrating...

Social Discrimination (Whites vs Asians, Westies, Bogans)

I've become more aware people are becoming more vocal in displaying social discriminatory behaviours towards nationalities (ie White vs Asian) locality (ie where you live) and pedigrees (ie what school you went to) From students to academic staff. What ever happened to political correctness?

    2012 campus food guide?

Compared to its neighbours its value for money.

    2012 campus food guide?

Sandwich place is decent, but when they "toast" it the filling doesn't even warm up 95% of the time. The pasta/pizza place next door to it is such a rip off, yesterdays pasta + its cold 80% of the time. The kebab store next door is worth it though.

    Seriously considering dropping FINS 1613...

As you've noted its not how much you study but how smart you study. True, but if you truly put in enough time especially at this level (first year) then everything should fall into place. Time as in pure time not I spent 4 hours "studying which includes 2hrs of fapping, 1 hr eating and 5 minute...

    Seriously considering dropping FINS 1613...

I wonder how many of you guys actually put in the effort to learn. Its suggested as a full time student you should be spending 10hrs/week a course. Yes thats an outrageous amount and I'm sure next to no one puts in that much time. But how long did you spend before you decided to give up...

Finding a new place to stay...

His taking the piss. For $200/night you could stay at a hotel.

Finding a new place to stay...

Is your name on the lease? If it is this is something you need to bring up with the owner.

Finding a new place to stay...

Are you staying at a Uni operated place or a private place? The lease should have some clause in it about sharing common space and respect of property.
