    Trig curves and integration.

Lol oh. For some reason I thought you meant that you should sub x values into both curves and whichever one has a higher y-value is the one on top.

    Trig curves and integration.

Lol, sorry if my explanations aren't that great. If the question asked to find the shaded area (i.e. between x = 0 and x = A [let A = pi/3]). Which graph is on top between x = 0 and x = pi/3? cosx is, and the sinx is at the bottom. So to find the area: And then just integrate normally and...

    Trig curves and integration.

You don't minus the cosx graph from the sinx graph. Let's take your example: "find the area between 2 curves e.g sinx and -cosx between 2 certain points" So first draw the sinx graph as you normall would, and then draw the -cosx graph on the same plane as you normally would draw a -cosx graph...

    Trig curves and integration.

It might be easier to just draw a sketch of the two curves if you can (for the question you asked with sinx and -cosx, it's not hard to draw), and visually see which curve is on the top/bottom. Or do what HeroicPandas suggested if the curve is too hard to draw/takes too long to draw.

    Quick Question!

    Yes.

    Trig curves and integration.

Top curve - bottom curve. For this example, if you were asked to find the area between y = sinx and y = cos x, between x = 0 and the the first point of intersection, it would be cosx - sinx. If it was between the first time they intersect and the second time they intersect, sinx is now on...

Well done! I think it's definitely possible.

    Drop Bio for senior science?

I would advise you to stick with bio. The HSC is waaaay different to prelim. More interesting. Wait till yearlies and see how you go. I got 72% for yearlies for prelim, but I'm not doing too bad now. Just needed to put in the hard work. Also, try out bio in year 12, and if you don't like it, you...

School is a waste of time?

'Study leave' officially began today for me. So can't go to school anymore (unless there's a trial exam) until HSC exams begin...barely going to see friends :( So, go to school and spend time with your friends. Trust me. And if you need to, just take a day off each week.

    University Open Days

USYD right before bio trial. Will probably go for a couple of hours, which will end up being the whole day. And then UNSW.

    Moles Question

There wasn't a typo in the question, it is 42.7g not 42.7L. The only way to find the moles of CO is to use n=m/MM.

    Moles Question

What do the answers say? Your answer seems right. Except, it should be 37.8L not .7 You don't round off you answer until the very end.

Teachers changing the marking guide line in trial exams!??

I guess so...my teachers always do that. I think the teacher knows what they're doing and didn't change "something which is right to something that's wrong". Sometimes the marking guidelines can be wrong. But if it's bothering you a lot, just talk to the teacher and ask why.

    Making notes vs Buying notes?

Depends on you. I type them up, looks much neater and is easier to edit. But nothing wrong with handwriting. As for the length, depends on which subject. For bio/chem, usually 20-30 pages depending on the module.
