    Molar heat of solution?

The values obtained would be lower than theoretical values because heat may have been lost to the environment (so, there would have been a lower increase in temperature, thus, lower molar heat of solution). Rather than using a plastic beaker, an aluminium can insulated with aluminium foil should...

    Making notes vs Buying notes?

not really. Content is completely different. For chemistry it would be useful if you've forgotten some concepts such as types of bonds. If you have your notes you can just go over them to refresh your mind. For bio, not really. Don't know about physics. But don't throw your notes away, keep...

    Making notes vs Buying notes?

Definitely make your own notes for the sciences. I didn't make any notes for prelim, but I guess this would be good practice for when you decide to make notes for HSC. Don't worry if your notes from prelim aren't as good as you want them to be, learn from prelim to make "perfect" notes for...

    Calculus question!

What do you mean "sub in gradient". You let y' = 1/2, and solve for x. And then sub in the value of x back into y to find the y coordinate.

    Rate of change question

After 10 minutes, T=5, and the outside temperature is 5. Since T is the excess of temperature, the reading on the thermometer is 5 + 5 = 10. Therefore, after another 5 minutes, the reading on the thermometer is 10.

    Rate of change question

Yeah. There's a mistake in the question then. It should be dT/dt = -kT

    Rate of change question

Sorry, that was a mistake... Thanks for pointing it out. "T is the excess of temperature above its surroundings at any time t." If the outside temperature if 5, and the reading on the thermometer is 25, then the excess of temperature would be 20. After 5 minutes, the outside temperaure is...

    Rate of change question

    Fitzpatrick for 2U.

    Still hope?

Don't worry about your internal rankings/marks too much because there's nothing you can do about that now. Just focus on trying your absolute best for the actual HSC exams, because that is something you can change the outcome of.

    Trial Discussion Thread.

    Oh. That's how it's at my school..everyone that's doing mx2 would've done 2U in either yr 10 or 11.

    Trial Discussion Thread.

Yeah. They don't have to. It's assumed they get a band 6. But, they would've done 2U as an accelerated student anyway Speaking of maths ... Got maths 2U mark back today.

Can the entire HSC course be crammed in 2 months?

What subjects are you doing? It also helps if you enjoy your subjects. For example, I would find it pretty easy to cram for the sciences, because I actually enjoy them and find them interesting lol. But something like english, or modern history, I would find pretty difficult to cram for since...

Modern History and Legal Studies Options

You can do whichever option you want. I know someone who is doing a different option for chemistry to what the teacher is teaching the rest of the class. But just tell your teacher what you're doing.

Does cramming work? Tell your stories and experiences.

Same for me. I crammed from biology trial, and I'm really scared I've screwed it up. It wasn't that I didn't know the content, but I wasn't in the right mindset, and so, I made heaps of silly mistakes and didn't know how to answer most of the questions.

How difficult would post grad occupational therapy be to get into?

    Cssa biology

Lol. Everyone found it good. It was probably the worst exam I've ever done. The questions were good, but the way I wrote my answers was terrible. And some of the option completely screwed me over.

    Cssa biology

That's what I'm doing for the option topic. As much as I like genetics, I want to get it over and done with. Most of the time, CSSA asks questions on the same topics, so I'm just focusing on those (might just read over the others). Still have half of sfbh and bol, and a couple of dot points...
