    General Thoughts: Mathematics

If it weren't for the huge amount of working out needed for the stupid little questions, would've done a lot better.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

lol calculated the amount of marks I had definitely lost after the exam, came to 20. God knows how many stupid mistakes I must've also made. I really don't know what to expect of my other subjects now.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

Didn't the question say exact value? :s That paper was hard. Didn't get to attempt 10 marks worth of questions, when I usually finish trials in 1.5 hours. What did everyone get for the probability question part iii?

    2004 probability

Draw a table for turn 1 and another for turn 2 (they're the same table but it's easier to visualise what's happening if you draw two). The score is calculated by adding a number from turn 1 and a number from turn 2. What numbers can you add that will be equal to or greater than 45? You can add...

    HSC 2013 Maths Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 2U Marathon Idk if this is true, but I go by the order it's written in the question. For example, the parallelogram ABCD, start from A to B, then to C, then to D. D is obviously then in the first quadrant. :L

Re: HSC 2013 2U Marathon This is what I got. You use midpoints since the diaganols of parallelograms bissect each other.

How to know the difference between...

It's not always the powers. When you differentiate ln(f(x)), the derivative is f'(x)/f(x) So if you integrate f'(x)/f(x), wouldn't it be ln(f(x)) since integration is the reverse of differentiation. The same rule applies when inegrating functions such as x^2/x^3 + 7, where f(x) is x^3 +...

    Exam paper structure.

Yeah, 20 minutes seems like a good idea, but you could probably do 15 minutes on 11 and 13 then spend a bit longer on 13 and 14. Also don't rush Q11-14 and make sillies, this is where you want to try to get 15/15

    Modern history all nighter

I was worried about this as well, but for Russia. Unlikely though. nek minnit both questions on Bolsheviks Doesn't help either when I don't even know my mark for trial lol. ~For WWI~ 2012: changing attitudes to the war and recruitment and propaganda 2011: strategies and tactics to break the...
