Being pretentious doesn't make your arguments smarter. Raising interest rates from a 3.25 to 3.5 or even 3.75 is STILL expansionary, it's just at a lower expansionary rate. (you know, d^2x/dt^2 and all that). Interest rates are lower than neutral - therefore they STILL speed up the economy...

At our school there's an implicit penalty if you write too much. Anything over, say, 2 booklets of average writing isn't going to help - it just shows you can't write concisely. You can get a 25 in about 6 pages, why on earth go for so much longer?

Handwriting has, of course, to be legible to be read. If it's not legible and can't be read, you will of course lose marks. If it's neat and beautiful, you will not gain marks. Personally, I'd rather write another 200 words or so than worry about making my writing look beautiful.

I didn't think the source was the main focus at all. I thought the point was to use those as a starting point, to examine a range of industries, using your own knowledge of other sources to back those up e.g. Seneca said the smell of garum pervaded the city, there were 81 loaves of carbonised...

Went meh. Probably lost 2 marks on tourism, another two on the last question of athens, messed up time and had 30 minutes for essay. Looking at low 90s probably.

Apparantly its been years and years since anbody's gotten over 98. Part of the reason is that markers actually have to ask a senior marker to look over an essay if they want to give it a 25. It happens very very rarely.

97 or 98 i think. Modern history gets marked fairly hard. Our head of history said that it's exremely extremely rare for anyone to get over 95. As for aligning, all I know is our own schools trials and where that goes. A 72 in our trials generally goes to a 90.

Grammar's got better teachers than Ruse imo. Judging on what others have told me.

Isn't it based around all subjects? Like if people in Eco do really well in physics and maths, that would pull up eco?

I'd doubt you could get above 23 with anything under 800 words.

To be fair then, our average in latin last year was like 96ish, and we had 30odd people doing it. So his internal would have been 98-99ish considering our state ranks. Vallance topped Latin internally (but didnt top Ancient Greek internally, lol). Menzies was 2nd or 3rd internally in latin.

Our school's got little chance of ranking in maths this year. Quite possibly 3 unit, but we just dont have the brains in 4 unit. We'll state rank next year with vasak, and definately top the year below that because Tim Large is the best guy to come through our school since Laurie Field or...

Uh ... should be. I'm guessing victor would have got about 93-94 on the actual HSC. Where did you get the 91 figure from?

You should never be overworked for the HSC, until maybe the week before trials and the week before HSC. It's just about consistency throughout the year.
