Japanese Beginners vs. Other LOTE SPEAKING etc

There is essay writing in Japanese Continuers and Extension. Perhaps the markers don't want to perplex the beginners?

    Choosing Japanese extension.

I'd say if you can achieve over 75% in prelim continuers you would be at the relative minimum for HSC extension. But that's just my opinion.

    technique clarification

I haven't used binary opposites before, but from what I know from computing, I'd say binary opposites are two words that are antonyms. Oxymorons describe words that are contradictory in nature, such as "gentle steel", but aren't necessarily antonyms. Hope that helps :D

    Looking for Examination Answer Booklets

It makes it easier to tell how much I'm writing. The more I can get into exam-style conditions, the better.

Could somebody please tell me the layout of the Trial paper

It depends on the school, but as mentioned, it should mimic the HSC format. So, just look at one of the recent HSC papers, or better yet, a specimen paper on BOS.

    Looking for Examination Answer Booklets

I'm using normal paper at the moment which isn't really doing well for me. Are there examination style answer booklets for download anywhere? Yes, I tried BOS. It said there are answer booklets on the site for 2008, but with a link to the 2009 resources. Helpful.

How will you get 95+ in eng?

That's right, markers like it when you can re-write your texts in the form of an essay... it's so annoying.

Is it suggested to memorise pre-written essays for the HSC?

I might sound like a broken record, but yes, do NOT memorise an entire essay. Rather, try to develop your point of view in the form of a thesis that you could adapt to the question you receive, and then in the exam include the techniques you learned and the quotes you memorised to back up your...

Wapanese People doing Year 12 Japanese Continuers

I'm not Asian, and I do ok in Jap Continuers. For study, you can try flash cards or just read over as many of your textbook passages as you can. You really need to understand what they mean. I know how you feel though, I feel like I'm really failing Jap atm. I really need to get back in the game!

    Polynomials Question

My working out is too muddled up to post here, I keep ending up with quadratics that I can't solve. Ex 27(d) Q8 Fitzpatick 3U: Solve the equation 4x3 + 32x2 + 79x + 60 = 0 given that one root is equal to the sum of the other two.
