Failing so hard, should i repeat or continue since trials are still left?

I think people consider repeating year 12 a better route than transferring at a later date because they do not fully understand how university works. I have a feeling that these people believe they would effectively be wasting a year at uni studying things they did not wish to study, this is not...

B Computer, science and tech job prospects??

A good friend of mine just recently graduated from a B. Sci (computer science). He's now getting into the field of penetration testing, apparently it's really good money (srs)

Alternatives - Assuming you don't get the ATAR you need.

Just want to clarify... mere entry into a B.Psych in no way 'guarantees' you a place in the honours program, you still have to keep up a high GPA and/or SNG; if you do not meet the grade requirements, you will not be admitted to honours (unless you have a very good reason for them to let you in...

Just turned 18 with no work experience. Any tips on finding jobs and what type???????

Re: Just turned 18 with no work experience. Any tips on finding jobs and what type??? Yup, however keep in mind that many retail stores will often only have full day shifts available (ie. from 8.30am -5.30pm), so its not going to be much use if you can only start at 1pm or something. The...

Just turned 18 with no work experience. Any tips on finding jobs and what type???????

Re: Just turned 18 with no work experience. Any tips on finding jobs and what type??? Many uni students have days off from class during the week. Keep in mind these places are open seven days a week, an applicant who is only available for two of those days is never going to look as good as...

    Dropping out from university

Usually you would suffer both academic and financial penalty for dropping a unit after the census date, that is, you would receive a fail for the unit on your transcript and would still have to pay the cost of the unit. However, i'm pretty sure special consideration can be given in exceptional...

How do you become a tutor?

Is that right? I was under the impression that the pay was considerably more than that. What is it that you actually do as a 'casual academic'?

How do you become a tutor?

No, PASS facilitators and tutors are not the same. However i brought it up as i thought it might be useful to the OP; PASS is probably the closest you can get to tutoring at such an early stage of your degree. According to the USYD website PASS facilitators get paid $34.35 an hour, which while a...

How do you become a tutor?

I'm not sure, i just googled PASS USYD and this is what came up. It's not faculty specific at MQ.

How do you become a tutor?

I don't think we are thinking of the same program in that case... PASS is a highly organised, internationally recognised program. Students must register to attend the sessions, which are planned and monitored for consistency in quality. Usually the work is paid at most universities, however MQ...

How do you become a tutor?

I think you're thinking of PASS/PAL program facilitators... These people put on extra 'Peer Assisted Study Sessions' for a variety of units over different disciplines. I do this at MQ where it's voluntary, though i think at USYD you get paid to do it. You'll only be considered if you got a D/HD...

Netbooks for school/uni - do they help?

Um, uni work and work work (which also happens to be at uni, go figure). It's important for me because i live quite a way away from uni and so spend long hours on campus, if i wasn't able to do work at uni it would be difficult to find the time to get my assessments done.

Netbooks for school/uni - do they help?

They're pretty useful for uni, i get the bulk of my assessments done in the library on my netbook when i'm between lectures/tutes.
