    2010 HSC chemistry

What this question is testing is your knowledge on the basic and acidic nature of salts, as well as the equilibrium properties. To increase the concentration of the (CrO4)2-, you must remove the hydrogen ions to shift the equilibrium left. For A sodium nitrate, the sodium comes from sodium...

    Complex Help

Yeh true but I recommend using the substitution method because it is useful for almost any other situation whereas the factorisation may not work sometimes, but yes you can

Proof for a modulus, inequality induction =D

That's what I thought at first but you do as in the proving step, when you got big Z, you expand the same way |Z+z(k+1)| like you did when you proved for n=2 and you have to state that, and then by continuing the chain you will get the solution.

    Complex Help

sorry I don't have a pen and paper, but let z=x+iy then you substitute and simplify, then you equate the real and imaginary. Btw u can not have an imaginary as the denominator so you must rationalise.

Does this happen to anyone else using the Excel Success One HSC Paper Book?

I got an old success book but there was a mistake in a calculation or two which was really annoying and that is really frustrating, that's why if I'm not sure now I try to refer to numerous sources like the net, online board of studies, my notes and the text book.

    2010 Chemistry qn20 mc

ppm is basically the same as mg/L, where 1000 mg = 1 g. If you want to another example look here http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=270087, and if you still need help just say :D the answer to the question is as follows. As the curve will be linear or close to it, we can say...

    Lol same ^^ :D

    How to calculate ppm???

Depends on the question type, since ppm equals to mg/L, you can then use concentration to find anything you need. Note that 1000 mg = 1 g so 1 mg = 1x10^-3 g

Calculation Question from the student's guide to HSC Chemistry

First re read the question, 0.9 mol of N2 has been converted, thus 3x0.9 mol of H2 has also been converted using the stoichiometry, but you are right when you said 6.9-2.7=4.2 mol of H2 remaining. Also they just substituted the values into the equilibrium constant equation, that is wrong you...

    Chemistry Question

Yep sorry was doing another question at the same time and did not realise, but as long as the molar ratio and such is understandable. Thanks

    What is BOD/DO relationship

Dissolved Oxygen (DO) is the amount of oxygen dissolved in the water system. It is measured in ppm as the natural waterways and systems have approximately 8 ppm. Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), is the measure of the how much of the DO is used by the organisms and bacteria present in the water...

    Chemistry Question

Sorry but I will start from the beginning and go through, then if there is still anything you need don't bee afraid to ask :D 2HCl_{(aq)}+Ba(OH)_{2}_{(aq)}\rightarrow 2BaCl_{2}_{(aq)}+H_{2}O_{(l)} now number of moles of HCl = 0.025x0.75= 0.01875 moles number of moles of Ba(OH)2 = 0.01x0.5=...
