You do NOT need 99/100 for business studies raw to state rank, necessarily. About 94-95/100 should be enough. I got 93/100 raw and JUST missed out by 1 place on a state rank. (was ranked 21st) Hope that helps. :)

i did my essays once i had actually learned all the content, and did them by not looking at my notes at all (i.e. test conditions). most of the time they were full essays, yes, but the night before the hsc i did 5 essay plans on 5 random, unrelated questions and got feedback from my teacher.
