No, you need to have done the preliminary course to do HSC. I'm not sure about this but I think at tafe they do both preliminary and HSC in the one year, so you could possibly do that.

Pretty hard to determine how much you have to score as it changes based on quality of cohort etc. I'd aim for 90% at least for all subjects i guess. That should be sufficient for you to move up. Also take into account that others could be in the same boat as you.

Business- basically know your syllabus, if you know it, then everything falls into place very easily. Its a very rote learning subject. No it won't affect your other marks. Its also good to have a back up just in case you bomb out on one of your other subjects. Most people have a back up in year 12 but you will have already finished yours which is another plus to keeping it.

I reckon you should still do it, also have you had trials yet? Personally I did business and maths 2U accelerated last year and overall I did decently but not what I had imagined geting. It was a real eye opener for me and plus sitting an actual HSC exam is a daunting and nerve racking...
