Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
Contemplating on MATH1231 or MATH1241 (I dropped out of summer session).
Either Boris Lerner/Milan Pahor (sacrifice one extra day to 5) or Daniel Chan/Chris Tisdell (class clash but still willing to go) for MATH1231, or Thomas Britz/Wolfgang Schief (one extra...
I believe statistics was in PSYC1011, but was moved to PSYC1111 which is a new course this year.
Like PSYC1001, it consists of sona participation (experiments), a research report, group assignment (PSYC1011 exclusive), a multiple choice final exam.
I'm doing 3 first year courses right now as a second year, so yes you can.
For example: the program that I'm in limits 72 UoC (12 courses roughly) for first year courses to be studied. So its best to read your handbook for stuff like progression in a program.
It seems to be a whole different range, but restricted to: liberal arts and science, health sciences, animal and veterinary bioscience, visual arts, music and oral health – or in the diploma of law.
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
Just a side note, you can *kind of* have a look at the Semester 2 course timetable now.
Its provisional, so rooms are likely to change, but the days/time is likely going to be the same...
Yep, you can drop a course, but this must be by the Census Date this Tuesday at 5pm (what it says on myUNSW).
I highly doubt you can add course though, its the fifth week in the session now.
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
Looks like I'll probably get 9 out of 12. Totally forgotten how to calculate the 2/3 stage model questions except the time cash flows.
As Squar3root mentioned, the first half of the week will be a Calculus tutorial (Tutorial 2 of 2) and the second half will be an Algebra tutorial (Tutorial 1 of 2).
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
Tumarkin is pretty cool, chilled guy as mentioned. Soooo lenient as well when he talks about assessment - like he tries his best to scale up.
Love when everybody saw his long bizarre password when logging into myfinancelab, mentioning how the textbook company...
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
LOL yeah, I still haven't even done the 4001 microprocessor Pi task yet, I'll probably do it tomorrow. I think you access the blog on the lefthand side of your profile. There's a tab that says Blog.
Same, tute/lab is tomorrow at noon in Goldstein/Tuba lab. We...
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
There's like too much work to do for the first week, like a LOT. So much that I can't even distinguish which is part is assessable (the portfolio) and which ones are not. Haha
Have you started your tute/lab yet? How was it?
Yep, Sona-paid. I did that a LOT last year, and I reckon its worthwhile when you're free/on your break.
I think the best one I've ever done was a research where you had to aim at a target and if you score, you will paid on commission on the number of scores within a timeframe. Made like $50...
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
My lecture was meant to be yesterday but I took the one just then in Rex Vowels just for this week.
Motta for ECON1101 is awesome as well. Who's your maths lecturer by the way? :D
EDIT: MATH1151: Ah I think I who you're talking about.
Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015.
Soooo tiring this week, probably the most stressful first week I've ever had thanks to COMP1917 and FINS1613... but I really like the American lecturer we have for 1613 though - cool guy.
By the way to note, it says that on the UNSW timetable, but you actually have Chris Tisdell and Adelle Coster as your lecturers if you choose the "Pahor/Britz" stream.
They seem to have changed lecturers for this semester. Apparently Pahor is not lecturing MATH1131 for this sem, not even MATH2019.
There are two Calculus lectures whom I've never had before, only familiar with Angell and Coster. Angell is pretty good, clear, good analogies and a fast speaker...
