kind of failed my half yearlies. chance of good atar?

Really depends on 1. Your cohort 2. How hard your exams actually are relative to the rest of the state's schools (my those HY percentages aren't too bad if the exam is just really hard) So as these factors are kinda out of your hands, just try your best. 80-90 atar is certainly not out of...

    Mechanics Tuition

Bump! Would recommend learning Mechanics ahead and not relying on post-trials school teachers (who are on a post-trials slump as well)

    Ranks, internal and external scores

Your internal mark will definitely be 99 if you're ranked first. (Source: Myself after feeding a few people in externals LOL)

People doing Medentry what raw marks and percentiles are you guys getting?

Just adding my 2 cents here since I'm one of the people who took the medentry exams under exam conditions and with honesty (3hrs and with no dictionary) and was getting around 70-85% for most of the exams. If these actually translated into my actual UMAT score I would have received no interview...

    Medical science

    1. Don't need 99.95 for med (except for USYD) 2. Plenty of people in my cohort wouldn't be there if this was true-including myself (referring to compulsory 3 science) 3. You should still do sciences over low scaling humanities purely for scaling (yes I believe in practicality over doing...

People doing Medentry what raw marks and percentiles are you guys getting?

Pretty much explains why percentiles are low for many students as there are so many 'time' cheaters who do the exams in 6hrs and with a dictionary etc. So I feel like the raw marks might be a better indicator of your perfomance. That being said Medentry exams are also pretty hard as well...

Related Texts - how many do you need?

I had a spare 2nd related for Mod C which was also my spare 2nd related for Discovery. You can kill 2 birds with 1 stone if you find the IDEAL text (very hard)
  8. A

    3U Language

I would say yes, but then again I did not do any languages-just applying what I know from my subjects.

    Trials mark ≈ HSC mark?

Trials marks really depend on schools themselves and how hard/easy they want to mark you, at my school I guess the marks were pretty similar now that I think about it-I've shared them below if you're interested (I bought back some of my HSC papers so I know the raw marks) English Trial: 100/105...

    Leadership roles

Yea get involved in leadership if you can, you never know, it might prove useful one day (Hint: any interview)

    IB vs HSC

Having made a few IB friends at uni: Pros of IB: -Higher chance of getting 45 than 99.95 -Easier to get 42+ (UAC conversion: 99.45+) in IB than it is to get 99.45 via HSC -You will struggle less at uni with content (personally IB teaches some 'harder' content that the HSC should be teaching so...

How important is exercising during the HSC?

Dw you've got 3 months of post HSC to fix up your body (went pretty fast tho tbh with so many interviews etc-more time preparing for them)
  13. A

Which is more dangerous to the human body: AC or DC current ?

AC can cause the heart to undergo fibrillation (abnormal beating) affecting your blood flow etc.

Questions for those who got a 95+ Atar

Hey sorry for the late reply as my original post in this thread was around Jan/Feb so I haven't been following it closely, I'm not going to publicly nor privately share my ranks but I will say this: I only had a single digit rank for 2 of my subjects, with one subject having a rank beyond 20...

Failed 3rd assessments! Atar estimate plz with these current ranks?

Ranks at Top 10 schools like your own aren't as detrimental as they are at other schools (know from personal experience as I didn't achieve insanely high ranks), yes a really high rank at your school can be some sort of safety net to fall back on incase externals don't go well but realistically...

How many hours of sleep do you need to function for the HSC?

Slept around 6-7hrs for an average HSC night, when I was under the pump I pulled some 4hrs

anyone in yr 11/12 or has completed HSC

Lots and lots of memorization ahead mate, try your best to get plenty of practice questions in and be prepared earlier than the deadline-cramming may be a big issue.
