    MATRIX!!!!!!

Yep definitely not, haven't heard great things about their English. Would recommend Delta Education (I went there) or private tutor over it.

How to improve my essay writing from a Band 5 to Band 6

Consider memorising + adapting if your struggles do lie in expression, sophistication of language etc compared to your peers, who I suspected have picked up the memorising game for Year 11+12 and are coming into exams with eloquent, literary masterpieces memorised. There are of course potential...

    MATRIX!!!!!!

Better than Talent imo, but answer is probably no to the bolded question.

    Baulkham Hills High School Application

Good luck. I've heard the interview is just a formality with no attached examination. If you have made it this far, I would dare to say your chances are pretty high but I'm not Dr Bathgate so I can't be sure.

Rural entry = you're probably set Not sure of the actual ATAR but it doesn't have to be median of 99.7 for sure

PAST STUDENTS: Below average internal marks but high ATAR?

Really depends on the school...if you were below average at mine you would still comfortably get 98+

What is so special about James Ruse or any other selective?

I've heard they used to make poor performing students do the HSC under other schools so they didn't count to overall cohort performance. Just a rumor, might be wrong, maybe someone else can confirm?

    Sydney Girls & Baulko Application

Savage. But you do what you have to do

    Baulkham Hills High School Application

Re: Baulkham Hills High School Nope Fake News there, all classes are mixed apart from maths which is ranked. Transfers are usually mixed in 2nd/3rd tier maths classes

Any good Physics coaching centre other than Matrix?

True but you also need to consider how much of that actually came down to the tutor, some of these state rankers you are referring to are my personal friends at uni and they are some of the brightest people I've ever met and I am sure they could have gone anywhere for tutoring and would have...

Any good Physics coaching centre other than Matrix?

I can vouch for Chris at Sigma Science. Probably miles ahead of Matrix. With regards to being far away-I personally had to travel for 1hr a week to get to Chris each Saturday and it was definitely worth the travel. Other suggestions: Zhang's at Strathfield and private tutors

How do you spend the last summer holiday before the HSC?

You would have already done one term of yr 12 already before that holiday I presume (it's called Yr11 Term 4 but contains yr12 assessments) I would recommend completing your AoS Essay and Creative in that time and maybe read your Mod A text if you know what it is.

UNSW or WSU medicine - if you could choose which one and why?

Neither, would choose USYD xD Jokes aside, since I'm a person who has to 'enjoy' going to uni I would have chosen UNSW over WSU That being said, either is hard to get into, and with UMAT results not out yet I think its best to think of these things after

    Baulkham Hills High School Application

Re: Baulkham Hills High School I'm not a transfer but from what I've seen Year 11 intake is substantially less than Year 9 and 10 (maybe around 3-5 people) so keep that in mind

    Year 10 Formal

I actually liked Year 10 over Year 12. In Year 10 virtually everyone was excited as we were celebrating our last moments of freedom before Prelim/HSC, in Year 12 we had it after HSC and everyone was literally drained and done with life. That being said I could be biased since I had a date in...

    Chemistry Questions - Help

Probably not, but maybe things change with the new syllabus you get. I haven't deconstructed the new syllabus so I can't speak for that. I don't know if they repeat-you won't have to know things about electron arrangement, orbitals etc, beyond the first and second periods for the transition...

    Chemistry Questions - Help

Yea 2,8,8 is fine if they ask for electron configuration. If they ask for subshell notation its 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6. I guess electrons per shell would be found using 2n^2 with the principal quantum number (n) being 7
