People lie about their beliefs to get into power. I highly doubt that there have been few atheists amongst our prime ministers - in fact in such a highly educated group of people, I'd say the majority of them were atheists who did a wonderful job in concealing their beliefs from the everyday Christian idiot.
Come on man, that shit just ain't necessary. Chill the chip on your shoulder out for a minute.

Not every Christian is an idiot, nor every Atheist some highly-intelligent being.

I doubt there would be a problem with it now. Bonehead Latham was an agnostic but he tried to flaunt it. I only think there'd be troube if an atheist was all proud and basically proposed christians were nutters.

Iron consistently confuses evolution with abiogenesis.

The point I am making is it is unrefutable that our species has been around for at least 100 000 yrs (estimate according to Gould) up to 250 000 yrs (Dawkins).

Now lets examine your theology. If you reconcile your beliefs with the facts you have to contend that at the minimum "Heaven" sat around for approximately 97 000 yrs twiddling their thumbs. Some conversations up stairs would have been:

"Oh look there they go again...killing, raping, invading other tribes...(every "sin" imaginable...)"

...

"Oh wow, these retards finally worked out how to use fire...oh but they still kill each other, now they burn each other :)"...

....

...

Some ~80 000 yrs later...

"These tribes are starting to join up...they are even more violent towards others, but together they are surviving longer...they have discovered agriculture...oh wow 'zoom in', is that a town?"

...

...

God: "This shit is getting boring, I'm gonna reveal myself as a burning bush in a desolate part of the middle east (the only part without oil)...take some ppl in as "chosen" people and let them feel special. First I'll test if a man is willing to kill his son for me, hehe...

These ppl will be forbidden in stone from killing and raping each other...but they can destroy other tribes and continue their practices, in fact I command it..."

...

"The world is getting bigger...Rome is way more powerful then "my people"...they have been failing...fuck it, I'm "going in" dressed as my son...

Surely by revealing myself to these degenerate, violent, uneducated mammalians this will be my final revelation! A great book will be written...no one will doubt its validity! I won't reveal myself in Rome where the majority of civilisation rides, or throughout the Inca colonies, or to the Chinese who can already read and write and are quickly advancing, or the Australian aborigines...

Everyone will forget the ~19 999 'other' gods that existed before me, they were shithouse..."

...

...

I mean it could of occured this way... (I can't prove it didn't :))

But honestly ask yourself, what is the probability that it did? That's all atheists ask. That's all I wish world leaders would also ask.

People used to say that for a black president now look where we are. Why should religion be an issue anyway if they are right for the job why can't they be the prime minister. Is society so ignorant that one little detail such as religion can affect if you become prime minister or not.
Well, obviously it depends on your 'degree' of religiosity...

However, IMO, if you really are serious about your religion, you really have no choice but to be an ultra-social conservative (it’s commanded). It’s not something "minor" if you truly believe the "end times" are near...look into the politics of Bush, its quite obvious he does. In fact, perhaps a reason he never really did anything to calm the Israel-Palestine conflict is because he doesn't really care...he wants Armageddon, the sooner the better.

Religion is a world paradigm...with those goggles on you look at everything differently...how can this level of zeal, which I consider innately dangerous, fairly govern the rest of us who believe fervently in the values of the enlightenment?

Because, whilst it may not be for you, religion is a large part of some people's lives. If it were for a Prime Minister, then obviously it would form a large foundation/motivation for their ethical systems, which would in part determine their stance on a number of different issues.

i think that everyone here has got it wrong, in a way. it doesn't actually matter whether or not our prime minister is catholic!!! i believe that what really matters is that we have a man or woman who is able to hold the country together peacefully, and makes us a prosperous nation. it doesn't matter what religion you are, as long as you keep the people happy!!!!!

(ps-i'm an athiest, so this is my point-of-view. those who are religious will most likely disagree, but i don't care!! you are entitled to your own opinion!)

It seems impossible that a man (who we cant see, smell, communcate with and who has no position) created everything in the world. How did he do that? It would take an unrealistic amount of effort to do that.

Thats why we have the LHC and quantum machanics, so we can find Higgs boson and find how matter evolved from weightless energies.
God wasnt a man, and there is no such thing as effort because he isnt bound by human characteristics (i did contradict myself there, see if u can point it out. though, i think that god is refered to a "he" because of the egoism of males, and their role in society at that time. I think god has a female side, called sophia or something)

Even if matter came from energy, where did the energy come from. In the end something must come from nothing, or sometihng muct have always been there.

heheh, just having fun poking holes in your argument

you logic is disgusting, you cannot assert energy had to come from something then in the next line assert that something is able to have always been there (i.e it did not have to come from something).

this sad little spiel is understandable considering your conscious has not been raised to the fact your brain is an evolved organ, an organ that seeks for patterns and assigns flawed/incomplete meanings to concepts like 'matter', 'energy', 'time' etc..

you said the reason 'god' is usually said to be a 'he' is because males had dominant roles in the society, this is correct...but its also correct to take it one step further and say the entire concept of 'god' was manufactored by these same stupified mammals.

join the dots already you weak-minded apologist

Atheists, as ive said, if youre interested in surviving as a movement, i'd recommend you drop the arrogance. Pride comes before the fall, and boy did we Catholics learn this the hard way! There's no KO blow either way (nor can there be). Argument will only get you so far. If you want to talk, let's keep the discourse civil and genuine, rather than cheap and dirty

heheheheh, you assume too much about me.

what we still lack is why this all happened. youre right, did energy have to be created? then also, does that not pose the question- did matter have to be created?

do u asume that i am a theist, and not just pointing out the flaws in his arguments? do you disagree with the flaws that i pointed out?

the magic part is keeping an open mind to everything

stop using words like 'energy' and 'matter', our crudely evolved brians are unable to contemplate such issues on a worthwhile level, statements like 'did energy have to be created' are pure white-noise.
Dont confuse your own ill-concieved logical proofs via contradiction and semantical babel as good philosopical discussion.

do u asume that i am a theist, and not just pointing out the flaws in his arguments? do you disagree with the flaws that i pointed out?
no I dont need to assume anything, you comments expose you as a retard (be it theist or non-theist)

the magic part is keeping an open mind to everything
more white noise..its like telling someone 9/11 never happened, being refuted, then emotionally saying 'keep an open mind, magic moves in mysterious ways..blah..blah..blah'

quiet repulsive really

atheism hasn't provided us with a reliable system of values and a moral code good enough to regulate and reproduce a white society, I believe that Christian faith and conservatism must be encouraged for the white race to survive and our white Prime minister must confirm his faith in our savior Jesus Christ.

Mate, at least a quarter of the country disagrees with you

And your point?
That atheism is perfectly able to "provide us with a reliable system of values and a moral code good enough to regulate and reproduce a white society."

While i don't discourage Christian faith and conservatism, there's no need for it to rule everyone.

i'm a christian and i completely agree.
well said.
shouldn't matter what religion, as long as their doing there best to keep the country prosperous and peaceful it shouldn't matter.

o and i think it could happen anytime. be that before or after 2050, i'm sure it'll happen sometime.
