There was a short letter in today's daily terrorcrap, said something very close to:

An atheist PM? This is a Christian country! How can we have faith in her if she doesn't have faith in what the majority of us believe in? This won't do.

fucking idiots

Atheists do not believe that there is any god – anything higher than themselves.

Australia is multicultural. Most cultures have different religions but believe in a God.

Australian believers exhibit moral principles and ethics and behaviour. We can trust believers: they are modelling themselves on a God rather than the devil - they are basically good rather than evil.

Hitler, like Julia, although he was brought up and confirmed in a religion, had abandoned Christianity by the time he was in control of Germany. Communists, including Stalin and Mao, were atheists.

They did not perpetrate their atrocities because of their atheism, but they are typically ego-maniacs possessed by delusions of personal greatness which is heightened when they achieve success and attain a position of power to the degree that they may be tempted to abuse the power.

Can we trust such a person in Australia?

^ The fact that this argument has been legitimately made to me on a number of occasions recently I'm not sure whether to laugh or ugh.
