Civil engineering might be hard and maths based, but if you were seriously interested in that as a career path it should be something you can live with doing

civil isnt that hard if you enjoy the maths...i wouldnt recommend it if you didnt like maths...that would be suicide

Higher uais do not mean that course will be more difficult than others.

that's the advice i have been given by 3 different enginners...
one has retired....and another just finished the civil degree in 02

the guy who just graduated cannot find any work! not a single job....maybe he doesn't look hard enough, i don't know but he can't find anything and is thinking about taking over a small coffee shop........yes a big difference from an engineer to a cafe

Well i rekon an engineer is say;
If you can do this for $50, an engineer can do it for $30.
It's one of the hardest jobs/occupations, as technology is constantly changing, you've always got to be up to date with everything.

I want to do Mechanical Engineering, hopefully work for holden/ford or any other car manufacturer and design engines and stuff.

I always thought that a civil degree could prepare you for almost any position that requires some sort of problem solving?
